Disk Drive help

I recently acquired a TRAK AT D2 disk drive. The drive will boot some software but will not boot DOS 2.5. Is this normal or is my drive malfunctioning.

If my information is correct, that drive doesn't support Enhanced Density. A DOS 2.5 disk might be regular single density, or it might be Enhanced density. If it's an enhanced density disk, I think that would explain it.
