Ultimate Sandbox Challenge

DUE DATE IS JULY 20!!!!

Overview- It's the ultimate sandbox challenge! Create the sandbox that looks the most realistic by leaving out NO blank grass. It's the ultimate way to show what kind of Roller Coaster Tycoon you really are!

Rules- Must be in a sanbox. You can use any amount of scenery/theming, any types of rides/rollercoasters, and you can add extra effects (mixmaster displays, etc.). Park must be past year 10. CAN ONLY USE SOAKED AND WILD EXPANSION PACKS. No CS sets (i.e. supports, etc.).








Rubric- Scoring will be through average number of points awarded.Full sanbox used- 2000 pointsNumber of guests- 1 point per guest in park a the time of savingPark Rating- Points awarded for level of park rating (ex. 678 park rating would recieve 678 points)Ride excitement- Average of excitement of all roller coasters multplied by 100Number of thrill rides- 100 points for each thrill rideNumber of roller coasters- 200 points for each roller coaster with excitement rating 6.00 or higher.Number of junior/gentle rides- 100 points for each junior/gentle/transportation/other rideTheming/Use of Scenery- 500 points awarded for use of theming or approprate theming.Entry- Post to enter. Send email with your sandbox to each of the judges for scoring. OR email pictures (lots) to judges. PM judges for their email. Each judge will award the number of points based on the rubric. The final score will be the average of all the judges score. Judges may compete but may not judge their own park. Average will be from the other judges only.

and i REALLY love the idea you cant use CS, because i cant use CS :D:D::D:D:D:D::D i have wild and soaked and the normal one. hmmmm, cant wait.

we can start as soon as we get at least five judges and maybe 10 contestants, but the reason im letting judges enter is because i want to submit my own sandbox and get to see what other people can make

and i know 20 people probably wont come im just leaving room just in case

k i started mine heres what i have so far:

this is a launched coaster, The Storm, about 30 seconds long. the path that goes to the right leads right to the entrance of the park.

As i don't have much experience with builduing parks , i do notice a lott of detail.

( As in , why does picture number 1 in the post above me have 2 waiting lines for one coaster ?? and why is zues floating above the wating lines ...
And what is that strange thing floating between the gray coaster in picture number 2 ..... )

the two lines for The Storm is for the two entrance stations, which increases riders per hour, its actually poseidon/neptune and thats because you cant put posts next to paths, (unless you use some cheat, name a peep M Brookes) and if your talking about the lampost next to Olympus thast for nighttime visual effect, it acts as one of those lights at the top of the taller rollercoasters, they are also on Gryphon too.

Im going for realistic. My park is called Green Lakes because there will be millions of lakes.

I was going to post some pics, but right now it is taking WAY too long to upload them, so i will post them later.....

the stalls outside are like normal stalls, they aren't really resturants or anything, I'm putting those somewhere else, inside Gryphon is just like a small fair,(with a giant ferris wheel, lol) so theres not gonna be resturants there, and putting stalls inside gets on my nerves because walls cant be on the same tile. but the resturants or whatever will be someplace else in the park.

and yes all guest-name related cheats are alowed, except maaybe, the John Wardley one, (unlim. height) just dont make a roller coaster 10,000 feet high, remember judging is based on some realism used, and i dont think theres a 10,000 foot coaster on the planet just yet

and if you can try to submit an actual sandbox to the judges, they'll need it to find out how many guests are in your park, and all your coasters excitement and important stuff like that

I'm getting there. Finding the creative use of default scenery to make it do what it needs to do is quite the challenge (in a fun way).

Oh yeah, had a question about custom billboards. I ended up placing a bunch in my park (though have yet to create the graphics for them), are these ok, or should I just drop them? (I also have 2 tied to the custom stalls with bilboards, would be annoying to replace, but not a big deal if needed).

oh wow, due dates in three days, im nowhere near finished, lol. i actually started a new park, but it uses steelworx, hmmm and my original park lags so much it takes a week just to add one roller coaster... i'll have to work on that

Park is complete and coming in at just under 3.5k guests (I lost 1 between the time I figured it had plateaued and the time I saved :(). Will be sending it off to the judges when I get the information (which will be after I send the PMs). The park does use all 3 expansion packs. So those without Wild won't be able to open it.

Just to be sure I don't bug people who aren't judging anymore (whether they dropped out or whatnot), can you please repost the confirmed, final list?
