View Full Version : What about us download customers?!?
Unless I'm missing something, we've been completely overlooked in the patch process. If there was an update I didn't see, please advise, otherwise it looks like Atari has just abandoned us; we are explicitly told NOT to install the 1.6 patch, then even as the 1.7 patch is released, we still don't have a version of the 1.6 patch that works with the downloaded version of the game. This is in reference to the people that bought the game directly from Atari and downloaded it directly from them...not the Steam customers.
What's the deal Atari?

Same deal as for us who did buy it from Steam. We get f. all support. You're stuck on version 1.15. We're stuck on 1.16. Atari have no intention whatsoever it seems to support any of the digital distribution options they offered.

The game was probably edited at the last moment for digital distribution. There was a similar issue with Rainbow Six: Raven Shield. The digital version had to use completely different patches, which were slower to be updated than the retail version. Also some add-ons didn't work.
But Raven Shield is a really old game. Monte Cristo has no excuse.

any updates on when patch 1.17 will be available?
At this point, Atari should take the high road and send a boxed version of the game to everyone that purchased the Atari download version. It's pretty obvious there is no support on the horizon for us.

I know this is an old topic, but I have purchased the digital 1.16 version from Direct2Drive, and have been looking around for a digital patch. I have contacted MonteCristo's support, and will hopefully get a reply about a digital patch to 1.17.
