HELP- Measurements for Sketchup

I use sketch up and I know that you can make CS out of it, but what are the measurements for it like if I make an object to big or small? You can tell me in feet or inches.

Change the setting of SketchUp to 'metres'. A tile has 4metres x 4metres.

when you get confortable with SU and 3d modeling you can go to MM (millimeters) and 4000x4000 is the same as 4meters x 4 meters and its the same as 1 rct3 sq.....

i use mm for detail and flexibility. i do use m for sixes and stuff

check belgabor threads, he released a script for sketchup that put the measuremnets in the program under the plugin button. Some one correct me if I am wrong but I thing it is called "SU2ASE" I think this is something you might be looking for. :D

Actually, it is all basically the same thing. 1m=1,000 mm etc. I think it is easier to keep it on M, as I don't think there will be many times when that will change. If not, most of my pieces are .1M or 10 cm, or 100 mm.


Go to Window. Model info. Units. Set to Decimal and Meters.

That is how it needs to be done.

Im suprised of all of the people that use sketchup. I've been using it for almost 5 years and I didn't know of barely anyone that uses it.... now everyone does.
