I'm posting this becuase I finally got the nerve up enough to learn how to do custom scenery and wanted to use Sketchup as my 3D modeling tool. I went to the site, downloaded and installed it, but it doesn't work!
My current OS is Windows Vista. Does anybody know if that's the reason why it won't run and if there is any patch or update to fix this issue?
Please help because I'm eager to get rollin'!

I was just updating my version of Sketchup, and went to read the release notes before installing. There is some info about Vista in those notes that I probably need to read about too because I could be getting it soon. Here's the link:

I've tried every configuration possible, and Sketchup does not work well if at all in Google. You either get a freeze at the opening page, or when changing compatibility tabs, you can get it to work for maybe 20 minutes before a crash. Google has not officially released a REAL Vista compatible version yet, only some half-baked suggestions that don't work. You may have better or even worse luck depending on your graphic card in Vista as well.

I got vista and got problems with sketchUp.
If it freezes at the start when the "training center" opens, then you need to open sketchUp via a skp. file. (a saved sketchUp file)
There is some in the sketchUp examples folder,
good luck :)
and i think you need sketchUp 6 for vista :)
