A few days ago my brothers 360 got the 3 red lights of death and he was talking to a rep. As soon as he said that the 360 had the intercooler on she said to get it off immediatly. As soon as he did, it worked fine. She said that Nyko only made the intercooler for the money and it saps electricity from the 360 causing it to "die" much earlier than it normally would.

I cant really link a phone call but im wondering if anyone else had this experiance or heard about this already.

I've heard so many other reports of exactly the same problems...also, the earlier models tended to fuse themselves to the 360 under extreme heat.

I think Xbox360s are very good consols graphic and fun wise but they can break just too dam easily. When i bought my xbox360 i had to take it back the next day because i had 1 red light of death. If you get 1 light of death then your xbox360 will always have problems until you fix it.

im not talking about the Xbox360s themselves, didn't you read the title of the topic! or are you just trying to post in every topic and create as many topics as you can

The 360's reliability is fine, its just earlier models that seem to crap out on people, that, and all of those attachments like the intercooler or the "water cooled" system, stuff that it doesn't need, i've had mine for more than a year and it runs fine on its own cooling fans and its stock frame and crap. The PS3 the Wii and the 360 are all reliable, its mostly the way you use it and the luck you have on getting a dud from thousands of good ones that roll out of the factory everyday. Every next gen system now has its own problems and of course they are fixed, basically, nobodys perfect....

While yea, the situation you have it under is crucial, you cannot explain how 4 million consoles were reported with failures due to the RROD, whereas the combined Wii and PS3's aren't even touching 1 million. Its hard to believe that 360's are the only consoles being held under poor conditions..Heck, right now I have had my PS3 in a completly enclosed cabinet (3 feet by 1 foot by 2 feet) for 2 months just to see how its holding up. Been absolutely perfect. No color smearing evident of overheating, no random freezes, not a single drop in performance. Not bad for a "Grill." The 360 is NOT reliable in the least bit...33% is way way to high.

(Based off of sold numbers and Failure rates for each product, 360=33%, PS3 & Wii=1%)

You said 1 in 7 in another thread, which would be about 15% ?

Make up your mind, mate.

What thread? It was more than likely before MS noted that they had a 33% failure rate and extended their warranty, and if thats the case, my bad. But it is 1 in every 3. Nobody thought it was THAT bad, and it took me by surprise it was that bad as well.
