Monday June 25, 2007 :: From The RCT Times

20th Century FOX announced today that work will begin shortly on a theme park based on movies and television shows produced by 20th Century FOX and 20th Century FOX Television. The park has been in the planning stages for over two years and has gone through several names including 20th Century Studios, 21st Century Studios, and FOX Studios. The group working on the project agreed on the name FOX Studios. Originally, the budget for the project was 1.4 million, but that was soon changed to 1.8 million due to many rollercoasters that are planned to be installed. Stay with RCT Times for more updates...

I know that there is a "no pics, no clicks" rule on here, but I have not began working on this park as of yet. I started this thread because I would like to hear some ideas for FOX TV or movie-themed pavilions.

Here's the park logo...

He's only making one themed area for Star Wars. It's not the entire park.

Are you planning on making areas for shows like House and 24? That would be pretty cool.

Okay but I'm calling major copyright infringement if he takes my ideas;)

I think that would be a great idea. I might think of adding several pavilions based on FOX shows. Quahogland is going to be a Family Guy-themed pavilion.

Don't worry, it will only be a small pavilion. I'll probably make it around the size of Disney-MGM's with a Space Mountain-type rollercoaster.

Just a quick update:

I have been having a hardware failure on my computer for the past few days, so I haven't got much done on my park yet. I have the entrance almost done and had moved onto my "mainstreet", but when I was working on my mainstreet, the computer froze up, so I lost a lot of information.

I'll be back with some pictures ASAP. Also, I'm experiencing a problem that when I zoom out, certain custom scenery objects disappear (like paths for instance) which leaves a black shadow. It also leaves "flickering" white spots in between CS path tiles. Anyone know how I can solve this other than getting a new graphics or memory card?

Thanks,
Westcot

Sounds Like Its Going to Be Amazing!

I was thinking in Quahogland, you should have a Mini-Train Ride called "The Road to Rhode Island". Lol.

2 ideas:

1) Make a 24 dark ride like buzz in a way.

2)The simpsons: Imagine a roller coaster or a dark ride theough an unaired episode

Awesome ideas! I was thinking of making a 24-themed ride, maybe I should go on with this idea. I could try the Simpsons as well.

Shyguy made the paths in his sets so thin to cause less lag. Every time you zoom out, they will flicker, because they get so small that the game engine can't render them anymore. Smae with other CSOs, especially the small ones. You can turn your draw distance all the way up, but untimately, the only way to fully prevent it is a new video card. Sorry.

I actually recently got a new video card, so do you think that it could be a setting somewhere? And, is there any way you could tell me how to turn my draw distance all the way up?

Thanks,
Westcot

Interesting idea, I hope you do the 24 dark ride and I look forward to the Family Guy area.

In the settings, set it to custom then select show LOD. here you can set the draw distance and detail of different things

Now, is it in the game or computer settings?

In the next few days at the most. I'm on the entrance and "mainstreet" area right now. Here's a picture for those of you who would like to see what I'm basing the mainstreet off of...

This is a picture of FOX Studios (not a theme park) in Australia, I think. I'm only doing the right side (duplicating it so it is identical on both sides) and will be making the path larger.

I apologize for the lack of recent updates, but I have been having a LOT of computer trouble. The 1997 Dell that I own is crashing and having hardware malfunctions and I lose a lot of work on my park. I've been saving up for a new HP 'cause I'm so sick of Dell and their crappy computers (I'm a Mac guy).

Anyway, I have began work on my Lightspeed rollercoaster. The rollercoaster blasts strait up, and then goes strait down (twice) while winding its way though the building that it's housed in. Though, I'm going to have to make it again, because I lost a lot of information when the "blue screen of death" popped up for the 100th time.

Sorry that I still have no pics, but I will try to get them up soon. Also, I am planning on a second park next door to my current park called FOX Point. I'll try to get pictures of my park ASAP as well as a video of Lightspeed.

Thank,
Westcot

This sounds cool. For the Family Guy area just name it Quahog because Quahogland sounds weird.

My dad is in the process of that right now (he's a computer repairer). But, he said it's going to be a while, (knowing him, perhaps another year) so I decided that I am going to buy one.

I pretty much given up all hope on this park. It grew bigger that I wanted it to and may restart as soon as I get a new computer. I'm sorry that I never got around to posting any pics.
