I rode the Volcano at Kings Dominion and bought the DVD of the ride. I hate how it cuts away from me to the track at certain points of the ride. It doesn't show you riding the whole ride at once which kinda sucked. They should have a dual screen or something. One for the riders and the other for the track. Or have a separate video of the track.

Many parks now have this cdride system. Has anyone bought this? What do you guys think?

Also...The whole reason I bought the DVD was because right before the end brakes I get hit in the face by something and wanted to see my reaction. But the video cuts out right before I hit the brakes! I've looked at others on YouTube of the same ride and they show the ride going into the brakes. :( I guess they did that so I couldn't sue them. :)

I've not yet bought one of the DVDs.

For some reason, every time I'm on one of the DVD-equiped rides, the blasted video fails! Maybe it's a hazard of being an electrical engineer -- my electrifying personality is shorting out the equipment! :D Anyway, I'd like to get one of those videos, so I'm hoping I'll get one to work someday.

Me too! I was suprised that Corkscrew at Valleyfair! had those, I thought it was some kind of security feature! :haha: Even though I had been to CP the previous year, I had never actually gone into the Raptor on-ride photo/video shop... or noticed the cameras.

My last time on Raptor was the first time my video wasn't totally lost. However, the video was remarkably grainy -- far worse than any of the other videos that were showing. D'Oh! If I'm going to shell out that kind of money, the video needs to be a bit better quality.

On Flight of Fear at Kings Island, the video was not grainy, but it was much too dark -- my wife and I merely looked like shadows.

Isn't Flight of Fear in the dark? I wonder who had the idea to add on-ride videos to that...

Yes, Flight of Fear is in the dark. However, they must be using an infrared camera -- for MOST of the videos, it came out looking quite clear. On ours, however, it was very dark -- the IR emitter was probably out.

Oh. I was wondering about that. I'm sure the time you get one that comes out right your wallet will have gotten lost on the ride. :haha:
