I was just on Busch Gardens Africa's website, and I saw this...
http://www.buschgardens.com/BGT/bgt_webcast.aspx
It says that there will be a huge announcement soon. Could this mean a new rollercoaster? I've heard rumors (only rumors, nothing confirmed) about a hyper coaster or flying coaster to replace Python in the Congo area. Here's hope for a new coaster soon...

I'm probably over-analyzing this, but in the link it says that the announcement will feature:
SeaWorld & Busch Gardens
Conservation Fund President
Virginia Busch
Vice President of Zoological Operations
Glenn Young
Might be just another zoo area. Plus, it they just put in two new roller coasters, Griffon and SheiKra, so I'll remain skeptical about another new one being added. I wish they were though.

Hmm... maybe you're right. There's been talk about a new coaster for some time, though, because of the loss of Python about a little less than a year ago. Also, on park maps it says "future attraction" over the Congo area. Who knows what it could mean.
Yeah, I guess SheiKra at BGA and Griffon at BGE cost the Busch company a lot of money. But I wouldn't leave out a possibility for a new B&M rollercoaster to go in 2009-2010.

Why B&M? It could be a Eurofighter for all we know.
A new zoo area would be nice, though. Such lovely places to visit, zoos are.

Sorry, no new coaster for 2008. ...Though 2009 is the 50th anniversary for the park, so anything is possible.;) The announcement on September 6th most likely will include a tiger exhibit, an orangotang area, a couple family rides, and a few other odds and ends. IMO, it'll be a very nice addition to the park.
Here are some photos of the construction area:

Now 2009 is a possibility with a rumored B&M Hyper for BGT, but believe it or not, Seaworld is the stronger rumor right now with a possible B&M Flyer for 09'.:D

Also, where Python used to be, it says "Future Attraction" on the park map. Maybe something will show up there.

Doesn't BGA already have a Tiger and Orangutan exhibit? I know that the Tiger exhibit already exists near the Python, do you mean that they will be extending it?
And I can't possibly believe that Sea World would be building another roller coaster after the multi-million dollar water park that they're currently building. That rumor has to be one of the least substantiated I've ever heard. :noob:

Man, that really sucks that it's just a tiger exhibit. Hopefully there will be a new coaster for 2009 or 2010.

Which one? I'm having trouble seeing how SeaWorld could theme a flying coaster appropriately.

Yeah.. no coaster.
I saw the area under construction when I was there.. it looked very unique. You could see large areas and such.. I think it will be better then all the other animal areas of the park. Thats JMO though.

Sorry for the double post, but the new area for 2008 has been announced.
9/6/2007
JUNGLES OF THE WORLD COME TOGETHER
September 6, 2007 (Tampa, FL) – With a nearly 50-year history of caring for animals and the environment, Busch Gardens is creating the park’s newest adventure – an exotic jungle where discovery and exploration invite guests to connect with the world around them.
In spring 2008, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will open Jungala – its newest and most ambitious park enhancement project to date. Set in the Congo area, the 4-acre attraction will invite guests to discover exotic creatures, explore a village hidden deep in the jungle and connect with the inhabitants of the lush landscape through up-close animal interactions, multi-story family play areas, rides and live entertainment.
Towering trees, cascading waterfalls, flowing waterways and elaborate stone structures shape the landscape to transport guests out of their modern-day lives into a mythical place where the inhabitants – both human and animal – live in complete harmony with nature.
From atop the tallest trees or beneath the jungle floor, guests will be completely immersed in the animals’ world. Multi-tiered habitats allow visitors to connect with two of the world’s most endangered species – Bengal tigers and orangutans. Treetop observation platforms are the perfect vantage point to watch orangutans within their family groups or resting in a specially designed treehouse. Subterranean caves and underwater windows offer a clear view of tigers swimming in their temperature-controlled plunge pool, while natural bridges and bamboo screens bring guests closer to these exotic predators than ever before. Acrobatic gibbons, flying foxes and mysterious tomistomas also make this exotic rainforest home.
In the jungle clearing, the village is anchored by a centerpiece 35-foot rock formation towering above its pathways. Stiltwalkers will parade throughout the village, highlighting the beauty and grace of the colorful jungle flora and fauna with elaborate costumes representing birds, frogs and even the trees themselves.
Two signature rides add to the excitement of Jungala: a zip line experience offers three different flight patterns above the tree tops for young adventurers and another ride launches guests up above a towering waterfall. A 3-story family climbing area allows visitors to ascend through the tree canopy on rope bridges to explore the different layers of jungle life, and a children’s water-play area allows even the youngest explorers to interact with the environment.
Jungala also will offer two new dining options for Busch Gardens guests. The Bengal Bistro, a newly remodeled version of the popular Vivi Restaurant, and the all-new Orang Café will offer seasonal entrées, salads and sandwiches, premium snacks and expanded childrens’ menus for hungry explorers of all ages.
More details will be announced as the new park area nears completion.

I love the sound of this, but Jungala? Come on, they can think of a better name than that...

Hmmm...
Here's the current rumors for BGT and SWFlorida.
Both parks are said to be getting a new coaster for 2009, maybe even the tail end of 2008, depending on when construction ends for Aquatopia and how well the new park does in it's operations. On top of that, there is now news that SWFlorida will be getting another major coaster after the currently rumored one! Yes, two major coasters, back to back. The expected manufacturer and ride is a B&M hyper/mega, considering the healthy relationship Busch currently enjoys with them, but the second coaster could be from almost anyone.
On top of that, expect Happy Harbor at SWF to be converted over to Sesame Street sometime in the near future, and Sesame Street 4D to take over the 4D theater in BGT.
Why two coasters at SWF? Well, it has something to do with the name change to Adventure Parks. From the info I have, Busch really wants to make the Seaworlds more like the regular Busch parks, just with a focus on marine life instead of land animals.

That sounds pretty cool. But two new coasters in one year? Busch must really want more attendance to it's SeaWorld parks!

^&^ I expect to see something start to happen around October.;)
...and this new area for 2008 at BGT is nice, but I'm expecting something more thrilling for 09'.;)
That's all for now.:D

Actually, from the info and sources I have, it will be two back to back years, not in the same year. But, yes, two major coasters are on their way to SWFlorida, as things currently stand.
