Classic Epcot Logo To Return!

Screamscape has reported that:

"...Walt Disney World management has announced to Cast Members that with the removal of the new style Epcot logo from the top of Spaceship Earth, the park will return to using the classic EPCOT Center logo that was retired just before the start of the new Millennium. Suddenly all the reports from the past two weeks about vintage looking EPCOT Center logo merchandise returning to the shelves all makes sense. I’ve heard that new signage is already going up in places, so if you happen to come across one take a picture and send it in."

So that explains why I was able to buy an EPCOT Center T-Shirt! (I got 3 comments by Cast Members about it in AK! Well, two cast members, one trash can ;) )

Will this mean the return of the other Epcot Center logos? We can hope!

I was just going to post this, and I saw this thread.

This is great news! I really doubt that the other retro logos will come back though, especially sense Spaceship Earth just received a new logo.

Horizons and World of Motion are completely gone, and the others have had some modern renovations.

Anyways, great news for us retro EPCOT Center fans!

Here's the new Spaceship Earth logo that is currently being used in Project Tomorrow and will be used once Spaceship Earth reopens in November...

Yerp. Retro 1982 (Though, Horizons is 1983, The Living Seas is 1986, and Wonders of Life is 1989) :D . The only one that's visible still in the park to this day is the Universe of Energy one (correct me if I'm wrong).

I think the UoE one was depreciated when the sign in front was changed, I don't remember seeing it after that. Not sure tho.

The Land one is on the Living with the Land Fastpass machine covers. If you get there after all the fastpasses for that day are gone, or if a machine is broken, then they will have these covers on, they have the Land logo on :)

You can see the Horizons logo in the centre of the 'space station' thing on Mission Space!

Technically, the Communicore buildings (now Innoventions) are still the same shape as they are represented in the logo...

And I suspect the other logos are hidden somewhere!


Has anyone else seen the hidden Nautilus in Pooh's Playful spot? I was so proud when I found it! :D

Oh yeah, forgot about the Horizons logo in Mission: SPACE. I never knew about the Land logo before, though. The CommuniCore logo used to be on the carpet inside some of the buildings, but they ripped it out this year. I think that on the arrow signs around the park still feature the retro EPCOT Center logo on the bottom, too.

Well, looks like the rumor was true! (Well, it could be for the 25th celebration, though)

Someone that visited Epcot today has announced that they have already started adding the original logo-shaped bushes to the back of Spaceship Earth...
