...and what makes it worse this year is Freddy and Jason. Although most of their movies aren't very good, I still grew up with them in the 80's.;)

;) Don't judge everything that you see in photos! Anyway, it's Disney, you can't expect scaryness like Jack the Clown can you? But read the article, they're really pulling out all the stops for Halloween this year!

Like Ghost Galaxy, and the spook-tacular haunted tree! Mix that with the accounts of the park overflowing and refusing entry, and you'll get I think I'll pass this year :noob:

I'm headed to Howl-O-Scream too, but at BGE. Six Flags' Fright Fests suck.
I mean, suck! :down::down::down::down::down:
But haunts in general, not at theme parks, there are some real good ones. I'm going to the Bates Motel outside of Philadelphia.
Best. Hayride. Ever.
Also, Eastern State Penitentiary in Philly is a great haunt. Haunted attraction in a real, haunted, 200-year-old prison!
There's a lot more. Too many to list.
I LOVE HALLOWEEN!

Have fun at all the Halloween events.
We got something in common, I love halloween too!
I may be heading up to Orlando the first weekend for the Annual Passholder party for Halloween Horror Nights! :D

Do elaborate. I was considering going to Howl O scream. I've only been once and there were way too many people there, which was scarier than most of the haunts.

Ugh, don't get turned off by it.
Six Flags Fright Fest.... blech. Please, don't get discouraged by the disappointment you'll likely encounter. I suggest going to some Halloween theme parks. That is, "scream parks." You know, only open during the season. Haunted houses, hayrides, and mazes. Nirvana.
Although, it's Great Adventure. Who knows, it might be good.

^ I guess you would say this years events, called the "Carnival of Carnage", will be themed as an evil circus.
...with a few other houses themed after horror movies of the past and present.

I just heard that the Drachen Fire area of the park will be used as a scarezone that is more intense than the rest of the park, and the houses there will also be more intense.

I went to sfmm fright fest the year before last extreeeemly long lines for everything open and very unscary mazes absoluty terrible crowds the whole back lot was a filled with people and I diden't even see one monster guy:down:

Oh,and I have a question about SFGADV Fright Fest.Is it true you get whistles to blow if you want scareactors to back off?
I have a younger brother who wants to come, but he may not be able to handle it.

I love Cedar Point's Halloweekends.
The part I am still trying to conquer is the Fright Zone. Looks so dark and smokey in there... looks pretty scary to me. Although it would be more fun than scary if I was with a group of friends!
In thorpe park there is gonna be fright nights! Although im not going to it, I went about a couple of weeks ago and it was Amazing!!! Anyway here is the link:http://www.thorpe-park.co.uk/misc/fright_nights/fright_nights.asp?css=2

Howl-O-Scream
September 30th, 2007
We arrived at 7:00 and headed toward The Hunted! We all walked through Zombie Junction the cast in this scarezone were really good. Although I didn't get a scare (most likely because it was daylight) I could see that they were trying!
http://img48.imageshack.us/img48/7674/huntedlogojh7.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
It was almost dark when my group decided to enter this secluded hunting lodge. The first room had 2 scareactors in it and they both got me good. Another good scare was when the lady in front of me got pulled away by a scareactor. At the very end there was a scareactor who made pretty much everyone jump.
After the hunted it was dark outside and we headed through Pharaoh's Revenge. This was a pretty good scarezone. I had 1 or 2 scares while walking through. There was nobody in Timbuktu so we rode Cheetah Chase 2 times without even getting off. After Cheetah Chase we jumped on the Sandstorm and The Scorpion. Now it was time for Trapped in the Walls.
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/9715/trappedlogoro2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
On Friday I left this house thinking "this house just doesn't seem as good as it was last year." Sunday, it provided the biggest scare of the night for me! The cast in here was really trying their best. Almost all of them got me. The sparks by the electrical room was the biggest scare of the night for me. It was the only one to get me to scream. Overall this house was much better than it was on Friday. I really enjoyed it a lot.
After a few more rides on The Scorpion we headed over to The Taste of Blood.
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/9794/tasteofbloodlogoje2.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
This house had some pretty nice scares as well as effects! I enjoyed walking through it. I wish I could of went throug a few more times. The vampires in here scared me a few good times. I really liked the subway effect.
After this we headed over to Catch your Breath! Masters and Monsters was on the way! This scarezone provided 2 scares for me. Next we headed through another scarezone, Eternal Midnight. This one was good! One of the scareactors scared me and then he blocked my way out so I couldnt leave for awhile! And after that another scarezone, Wicked Woods! I had quite a few scares while walking though here. It was also the longest one! After that we walked past a few scareactors out side the Bird show theater who got me pretty good. Now finally we reached Catch your breath!
http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/3181/catchyourbreathlogoyb5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Here is another house that showed improvement from Friday! I decided to let the rest of the group walk ahead. I was all alone in this house! I walked into the old run-down gas station and was immediately scared by a scareactor after the hallway. I was scared by every scareactor in here. The lady in the cabinet got me really good. Then the guy who comes from behind the refrigerator scared me. By the time I got outside I had well over 10 scares. The chainsaw guys really got me. This was my favorite house of the night!
After this we watched the 12:00 Freak Show! This is by far Howl-O-Scream's best show. Hopefully it'll return next year! After that was Radiation Alert 3-D.
http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/3015/radiationalertlogosh9.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
There is no question that this is the worst house ever produced by HOS. The few scareactors in here really did their job and made this house a bit more enjoyable but it still is on the bottom of my list.
After this we went home!
Overall Howl-O-Scream 2007 was really fun and I wish I had more nights to go! I really enjoyed watching the Death Jockey at the entrance. I think he is a really cool mascot for Howl-O-Scream. I havent seen a character created for a halloween event so good since Universal gave us the director.

Leaving for Orlando Friday Night and will be there from Oct 6 - Oct 19. Got a Annual pass to Universal and the Frequent Fear Pass, so will hit Halloween Horror Nights 3 or 4 nights and head down to Howl-O-Scream one night. Plus hit all the other parks while there. Sounds like Howl is going to be as much fun as HHN, will be the first time going to it, have been going to HHN since 2000. Can't wait!

^I'm going to Halloween Horror Nights this year, also. First time for me! This one looks great, I wasn't so intrigued by past years, but this one just looks awesome.
Albert Caine, you didn't visit After Hours? That house scared the bejesus out of me when I went in 2005. All the ...shudder... "artwork" on the walls was just plain freaky.

i have busch garden europe season passes, and ive been to howl o scream twice this year, on opening day and yesterday. i really must say that its one of the most disapointing experiences ive had with howloscream. ive been a passholder for 5 years now, going on 6 an ive always loved what the park does for halloween. haunted mazes, creepy actors, its great!
but this year, the actors dont have as much freedom in their "scare tactics" due to the fact that just because one person complains, the park feels they have to appeal to that complaint.
also, jacks "pumpkin express" (thats what they dubbed the haunted train ride) was terrible. there are no live actors, nothing the slightest bit scary, and its way too slow.
the one thing i was really happy with were the haunted houses and mazes. the one 5 pumpkin (scariest) is called wicked woods, and its terrifying but so fun!
nevertheless, ill probobaly go back at least 3 times before howloscream closes, and i'll get passes until... erm.. i dont know until when but ill always TRY to get them. well, those are my thoughts on howl o scream, id love to see what a fellow busch gardens-goer thinks of it!

I see you guys also get Wicked Woods! we've had it down here in Tampa for years and I think this year may be it's final run along with After Hours, and The Hunted (haunted houses.)
I went there a few years ago it was great(Williamsburg) but in all honesty Busch Gardens Africa's Howl-O-Scream is truly more terrifying, mainly since it's a separate ticketed event. But thats just how it was in 2005 BGE's H-O-S could of changed ;)
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. If you have any pics I'd be happy to see one. Maybe a full review much like my own if you have time.

ok today i went to halloween haunt at kd,
i spent most of the day there so i did more than just the "haunted stuff", i got there and headed for volcano, about 25 min of waiting in line, it breaks down, no biggie, so we head to anaconda, then all the way to rebel yell, and then richochet, which breaks down but only for about 5-10 min, then hypersonic, had to get a ride since it might be my last, then scooby doo's haunted mansion, then once nighttime rolled around, we headed back to volcano, waited for about 25 min again but this time we made it to the front, and apparently it had a rollback so we just ditched that idea and went to the alien outpost maze in fof's queve, not dissapointing, but not fantastic, then made a pit stop at drop zone, then we went blood shed, long line, but it was worth it, very frightening, and due to very long lines all we had time for then was the blue ridge bloodbath, which was pretty much the same as every year but fun
overall, it was a fun day, hot, long lines, but fun also, the volcano deal didnt help but i might actually head back next weekend for some more fun

I had a great time at Halloween Horror Nights for my birthday! :D
We got to Islands of Adventure around 5:30 and went to the special entrance to Universal Studios which was the same as the one by Blue Man Group, If I knew that I would of saved our group a lot of time. It didn't really matter because we still had till 6 until A Nightmare on Elm Street and Psychoscareapy opened. I wandered around the game area with my girlfriend and was happy to see that the chainsaw drill team was already out.
http://img120.imageshack.us/img120/6149/1025527ph5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
They finally opened the lines at 6:00 and we got right in to A Nightmare on Elm Street twice. Wait Time 10 minutes.
A Nightmare on Elm Street Dreamwalkers
This house was simply amazing, I really loved the house and I felt like I stepped right into a nightmare with Freddy Krueger. The cast was great but there were a few dead spots. The last Freddy before the exit got me really good. I loved the mirror room the best.
9/10
Next we headed over to Pschoscareapy. Wait Time 5 minutes.
Pschoscareapy Home for the Holidays
The detail in this house was incredible. The snow looked great but how come this house wasn't as cold as Dead Silence? The inmates seemed to have "calmed down" since last year. I did get quite a few scares though. The santa with a chainsaw caught me off guard. Also I just loved the cookie smell but the smell at the end was just horrible.
8.5/10
Now it was around 6:30 so we went to Dead Silence which had a 30 minute wait.
Dead Silence The Curse of Mary Shaw
Stepping inside this house was like stepping into a freezer. The graveyard was really creepy and I felt like I was in Raven's Fair. The Mary Shaws in the house all did an excellent job. At the end it was just my group and the clown came out from the roof and I was scared. I would of lost my tounge.
9.5/10
Next was Vampyr with a 5 minute wait.
Vampyr Blood Bath
Why did this house get such bad reviews? I actually enjoyed it and had many scares in here. The outside part was pretty cool and the inside had lots of places for scareactors to be.
7/10
After that it was a bathroom break and then on to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre which had a 30 minute wait!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Flesh Wounds
This was the house that I was looking forward to the most. I really enjoyed it. Leatherface got me a few times. The part where your walking by the windows with white curtains and he's outside with a chainsaw scared me. The part by the bus also scared me. Leatherface also chased me away from the sheets. I loved this house!
10/10
After that was the 8:15 showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show which I regret seeing. We left half way through the show. Then we headed over to Friday the 13th which had a 120 minute wait time.
Friday the 13th Camp Blood
This was easily my favorite house beating TCM by a hair. Jason was everywhere and they all seemed to get me. The music in the house was great too. The part where Jason was elevated with the cans overhead was the best scare in any haunted house to date. The water at the end scared me too!
10/10
After that we ate at the International Food and Film Festival. Next up was The Thing. The wait was 60 minutes.
The Thing Assimilation
This house had a lot of effects but not too many scares. I'll admit there were a few times that I jumped but the overall scare factor was medium. The atmosphere was great and it felt just like I was in the movie which is what Universal had aimed for in the first place.
8.5/10
After our visit to Outpost 3113 we saw the 12:30 Bill & Ted show. On our way to the show I told my girlfriend I'd meet up with her at the show and snuck off and baught her a stuffed MIB pug since she likes him so much. It was my first time seeing Bill & Ted and I really did enjoy it. I'll be seeing it every trip now. After the show ended we took a nice walk around before getting in line for Jack's Funhouse. The wait was 20 minutes.
Jack's Funhouse in Clown-O-Vision
This house was awesome. It had the best 3-D effects in any house I've ever been in. It also had something that Busch Gardens doesnt have... scareactors  .
8/10
After that I went to the Universal Studios store and bought over $60 of HHN merchandise. :D
Overall I liked HHN on a peak night better than non-peak nights that I've been doing in past years.
I know it's not the best trip report but it's also my first. ;)
