Last night I headed to Magic Kingdom with a few people from a church group. I really didn't know the people really well in my group, because it was a friend's church group because my own went to Rock the Universe at Universal, and found out that no one really knew anything about Disney World. One was a usual Cedar Point goer, and the others really had no idea what they were talking about (Ex: getting Mission: SPACE mixed up with Space Mountain).

Anyways, Once getting in line for the Monorail at the Ticket and Transportation Center, I could tell that the Magic Kingdom was going to be EXTREMELY crowded, and it was. Upon arriving though the gates, they had a huge stage set up in front of the castle (which I knew from other people that had been there prior). Instead of playing their regular park music, they were playing music from various Christian artists from a radio station that was broadcasting live from there. Me and a friend of mine headed to Space Mountain first. The line was pretty big, but it moved rather fast. The queue line was kind of loud (that because the entire crowd that was at the park consisted of 90% teenagers, I kid you not). Space Mountain was really wimpy from what I remember last time I rode it, but it was still fun. After that, about an hour was wasted waiting for two other people in our group that had to eat some food because McDonalds on the road trip wasn't good enough for them. After waiting and walking, I finally got to get in line for Pirates of the Caribbean. The line didn't move the entire ten minutes that we were waiting, so we headed for the Thunder Mountain line. Lets just say that waiting in the queue line was like waiting with a bunch of drunk teens on spring break. Every inch of the line was open and there was loud yelling, chanting, stomping, line cutting, and more. They only had about two cast members attending the queue line, and it was a disaster. When I finally got on the ride, I had wished that I had never got in line. The ride was so wimpy compared to what I remember before. The rest of the time, we walked around, signed up for contests, won free music downloads, went into a bunch of stores (that were all packed), and listened to music. I looked around the stores in case they had some new retro EPCOT stuff, but no one did (duh, it's Magic Kingdom). However, I did buy an Epcot DVD.

When we left through the gates, they gave us some free CDs with the music that some of the artists had played during the night. I though that was pretty cool. Anyways, I had a fun time (although tiring) and would probably plan to stay in a hotel there if I went again next year.

I went before the event, and the park was empty. One of those rare, delightful moments. :)
