Except for the fact they are two completly different vertions of Trunks. Remember how people were annoyed at Mystic Gohan being in the BT2 story mode as Future Gohan?

I wouldn't go so far as to say completely different.

Also he may have never appeared with a sword but the fact remains he technically has one, as Tapion gave him one.

And DBZ:BT2 they sort of treat him like a GT Trunks because the opening lines for for Tapion and Trunks w Sword are:

Trunks w Sword: Haha long time no see!
Tapion: Now lets see how much stronger you have become!

And I'm 99% sure the Japanese version has different opening lines rather than generic.

Dude are you stupid or something? In BT2 it was adult gohan instead of future gohan in story mode, not mystic. How would he transform?? lol
