A covered waterpark, similar to 'Caribe Creek' at Alton Towers, could be added to Drayton Manor theme park by 2012. It may include up to 20 slides, a wave pool and lazy river. The name for this new park has been confirmed as 'Stormalong Bay'. And will be the largest indoor water park in the UK.
Plans for this water park where confirmed when a new hotel was to be built in Drayton Manor.
Now the park does have permission to build a 72 room hotel which should opening in Spring 2009. It was originally planned to open in 2006 but due to the costly development of 'G-Force' it has been delayed.

We are all looking foward to seeing if this park will be built and it will really boost attendance at Drayton Manor.

Also next year you can expect to see a new Thomas the tank engine land.
Opening at Drayton Manor in 2008, Thomas Land will occupy 6,000 square metres and replaces 'Robinson Land'. It will feature new themed rides such as Cranky Crane Tower Ride, the Troublesome Trucks Rollercoaster and Harold the Heli-Ride. Thomas Land at Drayton Manor will also showcase a brand new Thomas train that takes children on a five minute journey through Sodor, which will include special appearances from the Fat Controller.
And Shockwave will also be replaced in 2010 with a Launch coaster, so Drayton Manor has alot going on.

Heres the plans for the new indoor water park

No he doesn't...metres is the correct spelling. I assume you are based in US.

The word metre is from the Greek metron, "a measure" via the French word "mètre". Its first recorded usage in English meaning this unit of length is from 1797.

Please don't criticise just because of a simple typing mistake, and check which country people are from before commenting on their (correct) spelling.

David.

Hell I spell it metres, also colour, and theatre, unless it's a movie theater and I'm from Michigan.

Edit: oh yeah, also centre.

I wouldn't be too sad to see Shockwave go, a coaster that is the only one of it's type in Europe is not necessarily as good as a coaster that there are many of in Europe. I'd rather ride a Launched (say Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, Rita or Stealth) over it anyday! I think an Intamin would probably be likely and a good addition

Yeah shockwave is now crap, dated and it took too long to paint. Is it still being painted now. Anyway a launch coaster would be ten times better.

Sorry for double post again, but the water park has just been approved with construction to start late 2009. I look foward to it!
