Before I start, I'm going to say that if there is already a thread like this, I am yet to see it, so I'm assuming this is the first. :downcast:

Okay, I'm curious to see what peoples' favorite rollercoaster manufacturer is. I've collected a list of the most famous, those being:

Great Coasters International (Lightning Racer, Roar!)

Custom Coasters International / The Gravity Group (The Beast, Hades)

Schwartzkopf (Jetline, Greezed Lightnin')

Arrow Dynamics (Matterhorn Bobsleds, Loch Nass Monster, X)

Premier Rides (Batman and Robin: The Chiller, Buzzsaw Falls)

Vekoma Rides Manufacturing (Mind Eraser, Boomerang, Booster Bike)

Bolliger & Mabillard (Alpengeist, Apollo's Chariot, Dragon Kahn)

Intamin, AG (California Screamin', Millenium Force, Kingda Ka, Superman: The Escape)

S & S Power (Thrust Air 2000, Sequoia Adventure)

Togo (King Cobra, Manhattan Express, Ultra-Twister)

Please vote, and we'll see who the real-life King of Coasters really is!

B&M by far. Vekoma's coasters are ugly and painful in my opinion.

Vekoma are getting better at making their coasters smooth! Everest or Kumali, for instance.

B&M or Intamins are wonderful. There are some really nice coasters out there! I'm not sure about my favourite wooden manufacturer, I haven't really ridden enough Woodies to be able to say.

Intamin,no doubt!

B&M

You can't go wrong with a B&M coaster.

Silver Park

I choosed Intamin becuse of they have created rides none other has created before,as the Hydralic Launched Coaster!

Hemmy

How can you choose against Intamin

El Toro and Balder are both Intamin woodies and arguably the best in the world.(obv. some opinions differ)

Maverick(IMO) :), S:ROS, Expedition Geforce are some of the best steel coasters on Earth.

I like B&Ms but most of their coasters are very similar minus the Wardley creations like Nemesis. Intamin just keeps pushing the envelope.

I myself voted for Intamin. They gave the world the first vertical loop, the first 100mph (300kph) coaster, the first GigaCoaster, and the first StradaCoaster.

Oh, that is wierd. The default colors are strangely still showing up black in the classic theme.

!
I know! My original post got screwed up (the poll didn't post), so I copied the post into Word and copied it back into this new post (with the poll!). It could be posting it as according to Word, therefore, black letters. I'll try to get that fixed soon (probably tomarrow).

B&M don`t have much originality, they mostly do their own versions of others creations!
First Hyper:Arrow Dynamics
First Sit-Down:Uknown
First Stand-Up:Uknown
First Inverted:B&M
First Dive Machine:B&M
First Floorless:B&M
First Flying:Vekoma

Only 3/7 products from B&M are original!

IMO, Arrow never gets the credit they deserve. Without them, we wouldn't have all the crazy steel coasters we have today.

First Hyper - Magnum
First modern inversion - Corkscrew @ KBF
First interlocking loops - Lochness Monster
Fastest looping coaster - Steel Phantom
First 4D Coaster - X
First Boomerang inversion - Orient Express
First coaster with 3,5,6,and 7 inversions
At the time, tallest coaster, and racing coaster - Gemini
First tubular steel coaster

Now this is innovative and creative. They may be off the playing field, but we still owe a lot to them.

It's a hard decision for me. My two favorite coaster by far are El Toro and Superman-ROS (SFNE), but B&M has way more coasters in my top 15.

...but my rule of thumb is always quality over quantity, so the winner is Intamin.

...and for the record I do think B&M makes quality coaster.;)

Jekoon

Arrow has some good rides. Anaconda at Kings Dominion in up there on my list of favorite rides. But these next generation coasters are far better than Arrow's coasters.

El Toro.. all that needs to be said. ;)

B&M

You can't go wrong with a B&M coaster.

Not true. Mantis at Cedar Point is bumpy and not really enjoyable. Just rode it this Sunday, not the best B&M, makes your ears hurt, but I'll go on it again.

I vote for Intamin. Smooth and enjoyble coasters!

I'm torn.

Today, we own almost every steel coaster type to Arrow, as they created the thing that almost every single roller coaster on the planet, steel tubular rails.

Then we have Intamin. Since 2000, they have created some of the most exciting, prestigious roller coasters we see today. (Ex:Millenium Force, TTD)

Lastly, we have B&M. They are known for their 4-abreast seating and ultra-smooth coasters.

These may just be the 3 most famous manufacturers we have seen since Shwartzkopf was alive.

It did go out of business and S&S bought some of the company. X was the cause for the company to go bankrupt. So, you won't see any Arrow coasters names anymore.

^That's too bad. I would have liked to have seen another 4D coaster. or will S&S continue those?

Wait, hasn`t S&S buyed the company and still produces one of their coasters? (The 4D Coaster)

B&M to the max. Look, I know they wern't the first, but they are really darn capable. They have dabbed in every coaster field possible (including trains for bobsleds and one infamous woodie that made us all "Psyco"), and built the first: 4 across coaster, inverted, dive machine, reasonably smooth standup, interlocking corksrews, space diver, and fully inverted flyer. And who could forget thier shoehorn abilities. No other company could put a coaster as good as Daeomen or Silver Bullet in such a tight space as each are located. Plus, in Rollercoaster! magazine, they are (to the best of my knowledge) the only company to have a 2-part biography. Arrow or Shwarskoff(?)? Only one segment. Point, set and match for B&M.

Yes, S&S bought some assest of Arrow Dynamics. So, they do produce arrow coasters. Only 4-D coaster.

I happen to like the Corkscrew type coaster from Arrow. I guess S&S don't want to make those types anymore. They happen to have their own type of coasters. Powder Keg is one example, its very smooth and fun. Their air launch coaster is rough, but very fast.

I'd have to say B&M because they make the smoothest coasters. Today at Great Adventure I went on Medusa and it was the smoothest drop I've ever been on and the inversions are like crack. Plus riding with your shoes off makes you feel free I love doing it especially on floorless and inverted coasters. I don't like Superman: Ultimate flight though I didn't like hanging like that.

Intamin! Whenever they bring out something, its always exciting. New track layouts, new designs, new technology. They are truely the kings of coaster builders, by pushing the limits and creating new rides for us to enjoy. Lets not forget they also make wooden coasters, transport rides, water rides, and thrill rides.

I'd say that B&M is the best coaster company. Out of all of the coasters in the world, I think theirs are the smoothest, and the most enjoyable. I know that there are a few bad things about this company, but B&M would probably beat them all!

Your favorite; which rides do you enjoy riding the most, or you can base off innovation. I kind of had to because for a few years I had a really wak stomach and I'm cooped up here in Denver, Colorado where we've got a pair of Vekomas (Mind Ereaser and Boomerang) and a few non-mainstream rides (Twister II, Cyclone, Flying Chipmonk, Flying Coaster).

Bolliger & Mabillard of course! they built very nice roller coasters in america! Intamin AG in second because they built the first and second fastest and heightst roller coasters in the world (kingda ka and top thrill dragster).Arrow(now S & S power) have built X (will become X2) are not bad too! Vekoma is not bad too but i like Vekoma for their boomrang coasters!
