I want to make cs. And Ive tried and tried and have only gotten simple structures. Then I try to import them but I have completly lost all my capability to use a computer and become dumb. So I ask a simple favor of ANYONE who knows how to use the importer to import one of my structures that I have made to be called CS. First of all, is this even possible? Can I send someone the ase file and textures for them to import it?

Well thanks for anyones help and hopefully I dont get flamed or anything for asking for some help. :D

Yes you can send the file. But the whole point of cso making is to design it and import it your self. The only way to import is to try it untill you get it right. I know from experience that it can be very aggravating.

Believe me.... I didn't think I would be able to learn a 3d modeling program or the importer... But within a month i had my first set out...

And the rush that you get... you will be so proud of your self when you do... and once you do get the hang of it it will be very easy.

Thanks guys. I will try again and see but I honestly get so lost with it. The vocab and a bunch of little details and stuff. *sigh*. And to be honest what I made actually sucks real bad.

Ok well right now I need some help...

Ok, if you locate where my mouse is in the right top hand corner, you will see that I can only select one texture. I have tried the CTRL-Click thing but nothing. I can only get one texture up.

Each mesh can only have one texture, you need to make separate meshes to use multiple textures. Review sunfingoz' tutorials, I'm pretty sure he covers the procedure for SketchUp somewhere.

Ya yours isnt to helpful :p.

Please note that I am a complete beginner at this but have tried this many times before. I guess its the damn ovl part I get always stuck on. So may I ask what meshes are exactly.

happens to me too.. but i got around it and am making somewhat good cs sets... but sadly i do not know what happened with u to make it do that :p

dude i dont have your probelm.. my problem is uv mapping. i map my textures to each face i want the texture to be on (im using multiple textures) and i do everything right in the importer and still my textures shows up stupid in game. its always a single color, and two of the sides are turning out transparent. ????????????????

strange. But I am of no help whatsoever. Hopefully I dont get that problem. But may I ask what you put for your object size in the edit scenery settings #1 in the imorter?

errm... how bout deleting the one texture u dont use... select that one, and for the ones u use... load the texture again... thats just a guess... im not sure

Did you finish the rest of the steps in the importer? IT sounds like you just made an ovl file.

I made the OVL file and then finished the turtorial by clicking on install. And then I found it on my desktop, two ovl files.
