Use the texture style. You asked about alpha textures, as I remember right. So you know how to use another texturestyle.

As I said: Use the texture style in the mesh window of the importer.

*sigh* I know the tutorials aren't ALWAYS that easy to read, but sometimes it's nice to read what you can and experiment...fortunately for you, there are plenty of patient people around here who are willing to share their experience with you rather than forcing you to use trial and error like the early CS creators did. We're ALL fortunate that Belgabor has also made the importing process SO easy compared to how it used to be in the early versions.

Anyway, here's what you need:

http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/7998/unlittutdr8.jpg

For my exit sign, I used as my Texture Style (circled in Red) the 'SIAlphaMaskUnlitLow' setting because the 'EXIT' word of my sign used an alpha mask (hence the 'AlphaMask'), the 'Low' is used when you only want total transparency, and the 'Unlit' is the choice that makes your texture seem to glow.

For your stage light, you'll probably only need to choose the texture style that's called 'SIOpaqueUnlit'.

One last thing...since this question was directly related to your stage light CS, feel free to ask this kind of stuff within that thread rather than starting a new thread. Then it will help people understand a bit more what you're trying to do and will probably be able to help you better.

As I said: Create a Face, map the texture on it, draw lines where you want to cut and delete the face outside the picture after reaching the first line. But for RCT3 you should do an alpha texture on a simple face.
