Does each CS pack come with its own stairs or it that something that we have to build...and if we have to build it I guess we can't use the floor that came with that CS?...Basically I have three floors for a mall all laid out and the only way I know to get stairs to them is to use a path set. Any other way?..or is there a way to get the floor from the CS into the path section?

Working stairs, that is, stairs that peeps actually climb, have never been custom-made; you always have to use the original paths and their corresponding stairs. It is not possible to create new custom paths, either normal ones or for the ride queues. What we DO have, however, is custom stair covers, which you can place over the stairs made with the original paths (there are custom stairs that are not intended to cover "path" stairs, but are merely intended to be used as scenery; this is not, I suppose, what you're looking for).

In other words, for each CS set that contains path covers you still have to use stairs made from the original paths, but you can cover them with special custom scenery. Not every CS set with path covers contains their equivalent stair part. Unless, of course, you're not interested in peeps climbing them, in which case you can also use the "scenery" stairs as well, but they will not match your path/ground covers.

the big problem with making "working" paths -including stairs - is that each section type has to have very specific peep effect points added, 4 per type per piece. Then it looks like each piece needs to be part of a special set with code (that I don't think has been figured out yet) that makes RCT3 figure out what piece to use.

When you place a path, you'll notice a bit of lag each time a new direction is "considered" while building a path- the game not only figures out colision, but loads the path type that you might use: straight, left corner, right corner, T intersection, + intersection, ramp, platform, and staircase.

Finally, each one of these sections then needs to be attached to the AI behind the game somehow (that unknown code again) so the peeps know they can use it.

In all, it's beyond the abilities of the importing tools we currently have. I believe that Pool paths have been tried, but I'm not sure if there was any success- I seem to recall issues that made them fail.
