My problem is that you can't very well costumize your throws and attacks as you would wish, which makes the games seem kind of bland.
In most fighting games you generally have a variety of throws, ex. Tekken and Virtua Fighter.
You should be able to do many throws in DBZ given the wider range of martial art experience and ability that DBZ fighters can do.

They way I see it you have a throw button, why not mix it with direction and other buttons like the fighting, block, or energy button to make a huge variety of throws you can do and even a throw counter availability so people have a way out of all of them that is semi-complex, but certainly not as complex as the availability of moves you can peform, which makes the game play of any game more incredible.
And take a look at this too...

Planet destruction is the same regardless of what move you do. They should have had it like Budokai 3 in which each earth catalystic move presents a different account of destruction to the Earth. Usually with colors and three different sequences of either a nuclear blast, Earth Catalysm, or a huge energy wave.
This is a much better way to make a planet be destroyed.
