BTW the place I found this list was on Anime News Network, and they still list some Geneon titles for Febuary, so maybe they are coming back...

Does the first BLEACH box set cost $100. At the bestbuy website it says that. That is a complete ripoff for only 20 episodes. I got 39 episodes of Dragonball Z uncut and digitally remastered in high definition for only $30 at Wal-mart. I hope bleach doesn't really cost $100.

Um, I think that Bleach box set came out in October of 2007. I am sure there will be a cheaper way of getting it in the future, it does come with a cool-looking "Soul Chain" for your wallet. BTW it's going for $200 in the new & used section on Amazon.

No, the BLEACH Season 1 Boxset is not $100. I bought mine at BestBuy for $70, and yes it included the Chain of Fate, which is a pretty cool item.

I'm waiting for the Season 2 Boxset, but that won't be out until Fall '08. Hurry release Vol. 9 and Vol. 10. >.<

There are quite a few Japanese releases on Blu-ray Disc coming up. The good news is that we share the same region as Japan so our Blu-ray players will be able to play them. But the bad news is unless you understand Japanese you are out of luck.

I did not know that. That is pretty bad, I guess some other countries have a longer waiting period for anime DVD releases than the US does. Of course everybody complains about it, and that is why lots of people do the download thing.

Anyways, looks like I might need to get another job, if I want to keep up with the loads of anime releases in May.

OK the title changed, just to keep everyone happy.

As usual a certain electronics/music/movie store named Best Buy goofed and put out some anime a week early. So I picked up Black Blood Brothers vol. 3, and Shuffle vol. 3 Also they had Death Note a day early, I guess there is not a big deal with on time release dates on anime, when compared to other movies (if they did that with say Star Wars, they would get shut down).

Yep, since some of the old Geneon shows are coming out again (thanks to Funimation) now people can finally complete their collections of quite a few shows.

Also Funimation got some ADV titles as well, and obviously that is why some of the earlier stuff got pushed back (like Devil May Cry vol. 3, which is a more appropriate time of year for that kind of show to come out).

Can't wait for the OP Set 2. I really enjoyed the first set. I let my friend borrow it, but now I miss it.

The sets should be releasing faster now that Funi is up to Drum Island (well, i heard it from a user at arlong park forums who talked to Sonny Strait (I think it was Comic Con) and said that they "just have met Chopper"). Either they're fast, or they're skipping some arcs to return to them later on.

Well they probably were working on it for a while, and since Funimation has their own Dub studio in their HQ, they can work on it a lot. Plus it really does not take that long to do an episode of the show, since they usually just do it one actor at a time, and he does loads of scenes all at one time.

Anyhow, I have heard some rather negative feedback on the new Sasami show (from Anime News Network), but I will probably still pick it up, since I am a really big fan of everything Tenchi.

Just in June, the Funi podcast had confirmed that they were in the late 20s/early 30s of the early dubbing. And in July, in Comic Con, Sonny said they just met Chopper. When they meet him, it's in the 80s episode range. Quite a leap. :bulb:

But it doesn't matter because it means faster releases (I hope). :)

OK just to clarify, I will now allow Avatar to be included on the list.

They are also giving Morbito a similar treatment to the Code Geass set that just came out (IE 2 disc set, 2 individual discs, and a box with the 2 discs & cool stuff).

I have noticed that more and more often they are doing away with the individual DVD releases, and just releasing a "Season" or "Part" of the show.

They are also doing the "Code Geass" thing for Gurren Lagann (I would guess it is the dub version, since the sub-only version is now out in full).

I was trying to list them all, but I goofed and acidentally closed the reply page, I did not feel like typing them up again.

So just go and look on that site. It lists stuff up to Febuary of 2009.

I was also adding the Live Action Japanese stuff that is based on anime/manga. As well as stuff that Hollywood does for the DC/Marvel comics movies.
