Hi guys! Here's the NEW story, Due to how well recived my S&S Screamin' Swing (Below) was I have decided to change the topic of this thread. I am going to make even more rides that didn't make it into the game. While it will not compete with the sure brilliance of Vodhins new experiment for animated rides, It certainly will help with the variety of rides!

Look here- I have a number of tutorials about textures, settings and whatnot:

Alphas are basically a texture with part of the image transparent, so you can make complex shapes using nothing more than a couple of 2D planes. PNG file formats are best in my opinion, as they work in most modeling programs as they would in RCT3.

Thank you so much, Vodhin! As for when it's go to bo released, I will make a recolourable version as well and relese the screaming swings only. I will then do the rest of the thorpe cs. So in otherwords, the screamin' swing only will be relesed sometime this week. The rest of the stuff when i've finished it!

The swing-ride looks very good (thanks for the release) but the new one looks a little blocky in your first sketch.Maybe you should try to make it colourable first, before you continue with the new ride.

Due to the fact that i'm a slow, relatively bad, texture mapping hating CS maker I thought it would be a good idea to make this a community project. Everyone that helps will get full credit and will be given something on my defunct "Feeling Chatty? Award Ceromony? Spamming Mods?" thread. If people don't like this idea then I will go back to being solo but I more people help then it will be be A) Released Sooner and B) Far better quality!

StarShape is not in RCT3. A similar ride is but that has a circular seating arrangement. Starshapes have the same as on a top scan. And none of the others are in the game. If they are then oh well - They were requested and I enjoy making them. I woulden't do this if I didn't like it.

There is a guy on here called BRTeller who is going to make the rides, he has a program that can make rides for RCT3 so you could ask him to help you make rides for you king.

The miami trip goes side 2 side that is all that is does, but if you see it in pictures or on websites you would be happy to see one they are so popular in the UK every showmen has gone that works the fairgrounds here.

And I know this is like the third time I have asked for help (well, it is better than making a new thread) but after rummaging around without succes, are there any tutorials on animated scenery, I am curious to see what I could possibly do (but please don't get your hopes up). So if anyone knows of one that would be of great help!

Animated models are not currently supported by the importer, and there are some places that have very basic and computer-lingo heavy tutorials on using the temporary OVLMake tool.

From only looking at the models you have posted here- and not from actually examining them more closely- I'd say you have a bit to learn before you should even attempt to make animated models. These are good models, but you need to learn to make them "propperly" -there really isn't one propper way, just pay attention to your face count, texture usage, and face grouping. Tutorials for that already exist.

Before you should attempt animating any model, I suggest that you develop the models further, paying close attention to face count: learn how to use 2-D substitutes, how to make multiple models for multiple LODs, and keep your textures' sizes relative to your model's size.

It's not difficult to make an animated model- but it does require precision and diligence and getting everything exact. If you don't develop your modeling skills further: at best you'll have a so-so animated model- at worst, you might destroy someone's graphics card (or rather help to do so; making the model properly reduces potential problems down the line).

In time, there will be a new version of the importer that will make things a little easier and then - and only then -will there be tutorials available (can't write them now since the process changes a little every week as Belgabor discovers something new).

Having made animated scenery I know what to expect- and I'd say that the models shown are close to ready, but need tweaking...

I went around and cleaned up the file by deleting bits from things I was testing that got left behind. It is a bit strange because the new one doesn't work for me. But the old one did. Strange. That is why I left the original for download instead the new one didn't work.

I have got both sets and i uninstall both of them and then i put the old one on first and that crashed my computer so then i uninstall it and then i put the second one on and it worked ok for me.

The only way this is going to work is do installer for all your files, so then when we download them it goes into the right places, because then we know if it is working or not. Plus you could make the files again if you wanted too.

no sid for srv... Scenery info data for Scenery resource value, means you've mis installed it somehow. most comon culprit is an extra level of directories in the tree structure.

CFR are possible, there are a few people working on them, but this was made before the breakthrough meaning they are not CFR, just models.
