The X-Ray effect seems to have been eradicated, even after color changes.
Download the update here: Download Page (http://98.130.102.38/e107/download.php?view.392)
Please delete the previously installed folder before installing this one if you have the earlier version.
Check it out and let me know if it's working for you, too...

heh... godhin... makes me laugh...
Anyway, I thought since I will be updating a bunch of set to improve the glass that I'd first perfect the new settings and texture relationship.
TNStickboy70 came out with a little batch program a while back that makes trees and bushes shaded properly through a trick that makes the game think the sun is overhead all the time. Belgabor has improved that program to allow other light directions and I have been testing that, too (it's probably going to come out sometime soon, but don't start begging for it- there's still some issues in other new "features" - Let's not pressure him ;) ).
Along with the new lighting trick (Face Normals adjustment for you into modeling) comes a new task of adjusting the Contrast Center of texture accordingly- basically if the Normals go up, like the trees do then the texture needs to be darkened and contrast lowered, and vice-versa if the Normals face downwards (like I'm doing for the 2D faces in my Skyway set).
I've also decided to completely update the textures for this Girders 'n Glass set, since the original (and the current update) are using the "old" way (bitmaps). The new textures will be completely recolorable and scaled correctly - The old ones were technically too big for the area on screen, thus taking up more resources then they needed to.
Here's a taste of the new textures, just keep in mind that these glass walls shown here are just the "All Detail Levels" glass insert; I had wanted to test just the main panels and left the frames out of the test models.

Expect an update later this week.
More to come :D

Vodhin,
I know nothing about this, but is it at all possible to have really "clear" glass, like the in-game pieces?
I love the pieces you have created, and use them consistantly, but my parks just can't afford a window washer full time! :haha:

Now that I've got the texture settings just right, I've improved the glass textures used, and made them recolorable. I've also added a new set of Spiral Stairs that can be found in the Girders Structural Menu. Download from the same link in the first post for the newest version.

Great work Vodhin.
However, may I be so impertinent as to make a request?
You see, I've been planning for some time to use this set in combination with the Cafe set's railings to build a recreation of the famous Crystal Palace.

Unfortunately, I've found the arched glass pieces to be too narrow, at only 1 tile wide. I, perhaps the entire RCT community, would be ever so greatful if you could make some new pieces, such as 2W, 4W, something like that. Would this be in any way doable?
My infinite thanks and gratitude.
P.S. Sorry, I know the pic is a bit too big.

This looks even better than before, Vodhin! The textures look really nice, and the fact that the x-ray effect is virtually non-existent is great!

The download link isn't available for me. Is it possible to just have the direct download without having to open any internet pages?

Nethero: Vodhin's site is currently down for server upgrades/changeovers. It should be back soon. (we hope)

The site is up and accessible through the link in his signature. The problem is the DNS-Entry, so vodhin.net currently points nowhere.

Having followed this link to Vodhin's site, the G-n-G download, whilst purporting to be the new version with spiral stairs, non X-ray glass etc., the zipfile that downloads is version 1 from 1/13/07 and not the updated version.
Is there another llink to the correct scenery pack please?
