Don't build a road.
Or a flippin' parking lot.
WHY?
1. Nobody wants to see them.
2. The scenery used for your AMAZING ROAD & CARPARK only add to the eventual lag.
3. We know people drive to amusement parks. There's no need to show more than a hint of where the lot might be. We can picture the rest.. honestly.
4. Seriously, nobody wants to see them.
5. Your park announcement is leading off with a slab of pavement. How's that impressive to anybody? You're sending away potential quality critiques. People often see a parking lot and close the thread. More than you think may never return. Make a first impression with a bang. WAIT TILL YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW!
6. Did I mention nobody wants to see them?
Also..
Ill work on it a little more once I get some comments.
Don't do that. Really. Looks to me like you're building only for praise and a community popularity contest. I'm sure I'm not the only one who sees it that way.
Honestly. Look at that picture you posted, and if you opened some random thread and that's all you saw... what would you comment on?
You can't get comments if you give us nothing to comment on. Again... WAIT TILL YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW
We don't care what you made in 15-20 minutes. I'll give you a folder full of files of stuff that took the same amount of time that has a lot more to comment on than you plopping down some cars, some path, and coloring the land a bit.
Take a look around at the people who really spend some time working on their updates. A picture of every minute detail in a play-by-play format rarely works. Big, dramatic changes offer the best reaction, and better comments.
You probably won't listen to a lick of what I've had to say here. And if that's the case... I'll tell you I told you so right now. But don't say I never gave you anything. Everything above is solid advice.
Enjoy the rest of your day... and quit being a punk all over the forums.

^Applaud VERY well said Grav!
Before I saw you're post, and I saw the picture, I was going to comment and say "I am loving the 5 minutes worth the work. I'm sure a lot of people are going to love this, and give this 5 stars all the way!" but you said it 10x better than me ;)

No reason to be soo rude here, Grav. 18 places for cars are in my opinion not a real parking lot. Leave them, how they are and forget, how the peeps arrived the park. The entrance building has a nice architecture and I hope we will see more in that style.
But I agreed about the pictures. I prefer to see pictures with a width of 800 pixels in the thread and not any albums.

Guys; I think this is a touch harsh. I like the main building that you have; I also like the way that you want to try an be realistic with your park by adding a car park. My only thing to say on the matter is that perhaps you could have waited to show the community some more of the park before you showed pictures of a car park.
I like to see this continue; don't be put of; try to show us some of the park this time though :)

I don't mind seeing parking lots in parks but that isn't a parking lot.
There is cs out there if you really want to make one with the lines and different cars to put in it.
As for the building, I can't see it. End of. Get some better pics and I'll check back and give you some feedback.
I feel parking lots are better fit for RCT3, because in RCT2, there is actually an object limit. If you use too many objects in the entire park, you can't build anymore.

the worst one is jurassic park operation genesis if anyone's played it. There is a limit on everything. You can place something like 5000 path tiles, 1000 low seceurity fences, 800 medium and so on....
It's really annoying.

ok thanks for all the support?
I can remove the parking lot, to me it did look like a piece of (not needed to be said)
Im not being a punk on the forums, Im new, Ive never made a park and presented it to a community yet. I dont know whats acceptable and what isnt.
Dont give me a big speech about whats wrong with it, tell me whats good, and it isnt 20 minutes of work it took me longer than that. Its not that its a small building, but theres another part called planning and deciding on what I needed to do.
This is the start of my project, not the final version. I posted the enterance as a move in hopes that people would give me ideas on how to improve on it, not to be yelled at and call a punk.
I realize I'm new and oblivously dont meet your standards on anything I do, but if its okay with you which it probobly isnt, Id like to continue my park without getting criticized for every little thing i do.

Why do you post on here?
You can't expect people to sing your praises when there is very little. Post a lot of stuff and we'll tell you where to make improvements but keeping it as your park. It sounds like you want people to tell you what to build. It's not our park. Build it how you want and then show us...that's it.
Look at other parks and you'll soon see what's acceptable and what isn't.

Why the hell do you think its called the BEGINNING OF MY PROJECT?
I will have more stuff once I get the chance to do it, but like everyone one else I had other stuff to do. I simply started this to begin my project.
Dont ***** at me because there isnt enough.
Now calm down, there's nothing to get worked up about here dude. If you have very little to show, and don't want to get screamed at, in the future, wait until you have more to show. :)

I don't know what the problem is...Assassin has posted more than some who have gotten a warmer reception. Yes, the pictures are in an album rather than directly on the board, but still very accessible. As a first park, it's not a bad start. It needs terraforming to make it more interesting, IMO.

I did give him constructive criticism.
I said I didn't mind car parks if they are done well. I suggested using cs to make it actually look like a car park.
Enough said on this...I never said anything out of order. There are enough people are open to criticism and compliments for me to comment.

I think it should be noted, that at the time of my post... there was a VERY different first post in this thread.
It's since been edited to show much more than what was there when I posted. It was originally one picture... a birdseye shot of a tiny parking lot and some paths... and he was asking where his road and whatnot should go.
I did no 'beating down' or 'insulting' of anyone. I told him exactly what his mistake was in his original first post.. and what to do to correct it... and not just by my standards.
I'm not the only person around here who is sick and tired of looking at OMG L0oK @ My NeW P@RK!!1! threads and seeing nothing but a parking lot, or an entrance.

lol thanks for all the support. Now that my homework is done, i think i may lower under the radar into the ground so just the 3 high parts come out
If I may make a suggestion, since your park is called "Infinity Heights" I would suggest making a huge plateau somewhere in the park, and putting some tall thrill rides and coasters there. Maybe even one that drops off the side and comes back up.

^What? I think a lot of us aren't commenting on what needs to be done/made better because you tend to fly off the handle whenever criticism is given.....
But this park is mediocre at best. Take your time and really focus on making this look good. Your paths are too narrow, you're neglecting any type of landscaping, your buildings are all the same and your coasters don't look smooth or well-planned out.
That, and I know I'm staying away more often than not because of all the...silliness...that takes place in this thread.

And Yet.......
WHEN I POST MY FIRST PARK COMPLETE WITH TONS OF CS AND TERRAFORMING. THE THREAD IS ALMOST EMPTY EXCEPT FOR MY FIRST POST!!!:mad:
anyway no parkism against you, i like the starting of the park. However, you really need to learn CS. i joined a month after you did. Your profile ses u joined in November, i believed i joined around the same date, and i have TONS of CS including the CSOrganiser. Download that, and a few sets you should know.
1. download the CS organizer. Its a great way to find what you need. It is basically a group of Word and Excel documents that categorize every CS set ever made into a group of themes and keywords. heres a link (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=599956)
NOTABLE CS SETS
there is an online list of CS that is sticked in the Custom Scenery area of the RCT3 Exchange. go there. Here is a direct link if you want. CLICK (http://www.rct-theme-world.de/rct-liste/complete-list.htm)
The mainly used CS sets (or the ones that i have:))
1. Almost every CS downloader has JCats Steelworx or Moby's steel Jungle
2. look for the name "shyguy" in the list. Download ALL of his sets. they are very useful.
3. Dastmatze Utilities are great. they have some realistic looking footers for your supports. Goes great with Steelworx
4. Aces Contstruction set - great for giving a "still-under-contstruction" feel to your parks.
5. ATH catwalks. Great catwalks. Steelworx has some, but they don't flow very easily as compared to ATH's. This set also has a few diagonal supports which JCat also does not have.
6. Dastmatze's Instant Wood. Basically the ingame trees and shrubs but with the collision detection turned off and given a quarter tile ability. Great for making your forests less blocky.
7. Keep an eye out on the forum. There are a few very notable things that are still a Work In Progress. Check the forum for things like Shyguy's rocks or Vhodin's sky lifts.
8. Just browse the list or the CSOrganiser and get random things that you might need
Hope i helped......
-Coastergod.

CSO is not required to build excellent parks. I think you should learn how to build things with what's in the game before you go collecting a bunch of CS you don't know how to use. CS enhances your natural abilities and design, it doesn't cover up inexperience or lack of skill.

I havent even decided what Im going to terraform yet.
I dont know how many times i have to say it but this is the beginning of my park. No trees, no hills, little water.
I know my first roller coaster is bad, I was planning on replacing it.
The second one isnt even done yet, i may extend it.
The buildings look the same because they are the same building.
This park isnt even close to done, so dont make fun of it because there isnt anything here.
And coastergod i dont care if your park has more stuff than mine and your thread suffered. Its not my problem.
I do like how you gave me some ideas of custom scenery tho, i have a new comp and all my old CS was on it. right now all i have is drp's lightz and the gothic arcitecture.

^ See? This is what I'm talking about. Giving criticism does NOT equal making fun. I gave you honest critiques and you whine and say I'm making fun of your park. I'm just telling you what I see. If you don't want judgment placed on an unfinished park, don't post an unfinished park. If you'd rather get honest critique about a work in progress, then re-read my post with an attitude that isn't, "Oh, he doesn't like it, he must be making fun of it." It's rude and insulting and makes me think you think my opinion isn't worth a nickel.
You sport an attitude that your work, as of yet, can't back up. Work on either one right now, your skills or your attitude, I don't really care which.
