As most of you know, both BTTF rides at Universal Studios Florida and Hollywood (excluding Japan) were removed to make way for the new "Simpsons Ride". At first, it sounded like an okay idea to me. I never really liked the Simpsons, but it was kind of a neat idea for a theme park ride. Even the storyline sounded good to me. I've been keeping up with this for the past few months, anticipating what it would look like. Then, there was this...

What were they thinking?! :weird: I know it's supposed to look tacky, but couldn't they have toned it down a bit? It doesn't fit in with a movie-themed park whatsoever. Anyone else thinking the same thing?

...no, not really.

I personally find the Simpsons to be ok. I will sorrowly miss BTTF though. :(
Anyways, if you watch the show, you'll know that everything "Krusty" does is somewhat tacky, so that's just part of the theme. It looks like a good way to reuse the same building too, though. :noob:

I don't mind the Simpsons Ride, myself. Of course, refurbishing the BTTF ride would have been my first choice. ...Oh well.
I guess I'll take the Simpsons Ride in 08', Project Rumble in 09', and Harry Potter in late 09'/early 2010.;)

If they'd just get rid of that giant Krusty head...
I think a Fast and the Furious ride is a good idea, which gets me thinking about "Project Rumble". It wouldn't be a bad idea for a heavily-themed LIM launch coaster going in the Jimmy Neutron sound stage and neighboring areas. Since Maurer Soehne is rumored to be the ride contractor, a launched X-Car coaster (http://www.maurer-soehne.de/amusement_rides/x-coaster/launch/) would be kind of a neat idea for a FATF-themed ride. ;)

It's perfectly in theme, it's the sort of thing the Character Krusty (rather arrogant he is) would do. It's really good theming, immersing you in the world of the Simpsons. If it were anything less, it wouldn't be in the theme.
So there!

I'm not saying it isn't in theme, it's too much in theme. Though the look is growing on me, and the fact that it's in the World Expo section, (good idea as it can fit in with the World's Fair theme) the giant Krusty head is overdoing it in my opinion. But that's my opinion, and I respect yours.
So there! ;)

He has no pupils!
Is that how Krusty would look if he were in a Little Orphan Annie comic strip? :D
"Hey HEY kid! Get yer rotten little mutt away from me. How's that Daddy Warbucks thing workin' out for ya? Think he's got room to take in a clown? Huh? HUH? Aw, help me out here, kid. I'm eating Sideshow Bob's shoes!"

I saw it at night during Mardi-Gras the other night. Not bad. Now if only they waited till 08 for Halloween Horror Nights carnival of carnage. That would of made it even better.

ye when i went a week ago they were putting the pupils and eyelashes on the characters. i cant believe they pulled down bttf tho it was so cool. BTW some news, people may realise (or may not) that the lost city section of islands of adventure is being changed into a "harry potter" themed land! poseidons fury is staying and so is dueling dragons but probably under a different name and u no that photo opertunity dragons at the front? they'll probs be gone. its a sad day really but it is true i was talking to an employee of universal when i was there.

You'd think some people would read everything before blurting out stuff. That's a big problem in this forum.

After the Office, the Simpsons is my favorite show (although the new ones suck) so I personally look forward to it. I actually think it looks awesome since it seems like something that would be on the show.

From what's been revealed, it's essentially the same ride, but with new ride vehicles and a new movie, plus all the new associated theming.

:D Hardly. I don't think atom bombs could kill The Simpsons... you do realise that the show is one of the longest running shows in history, and shows no signs of stopping? Heck, the movie made a mint, so I'd expect at least two more films before they consider bringing the show to a halt.
As for the ride, it's a $40 million makeover... about the only things that are being kept from BTTF are the two dome screens and the building itself. And even the screens got a facelift. Personally, I'd call it a whole new ride... it's not like they just changed the ride film... they changed a lot. New vehicles, new scissor lifts, new theming, new digital projectors, carnival games in the que, new six minute movie, etc.
