What is your favorite former Paramount Park?
(a) Canada's Wonderland
(b) King's Island
(c) King's Dominion
(d) Carowinds
(e) California's Great America
(f) Gilroy Gardens (if it counts)
Please state why, state your fav coaster there, and give it a rating out of 10
Canada's Wonderland, it was great, the coasters were awesome, and the theming was impressive. My favorite coaster was Skyrider, for some reason.
No it's your turn.

None of the above, Paramount ruined all their parks. Thank god they sold them off.

Never botherd to go to any of them. They look like terrible and I've never heard anything really good about thier coasters.
I'm intrested to see if Cedar Fair does anything good with them.

Well, I think Cedar Fair gave Kings Island X-Flight from Geagua Lake. KI was in desperate need of another coaster. And it is rumored that KI may be getting a B&M Hyper. So that's good.
So my favorite Paramounts park is Kings Island. It's the closes Paramounts park by me. It's an annual trip of mine. The coasters are good, and my coaster may have been Firehawk, but I didn't get to go on it last year, so my favorite coaster there would have to be The Beast.

Great America, because it has the same name as my home park. ;)

i've never seen any "gangs" at kings dominion. I've never seen anyone stirring up the slightest trouble. i bet only you and your "cool" friends call it that.

alright my home park is kd, i was there friday and its looking better with the cedar fair owners, i like the fact that dominator is there however they couldve placed it better, its just they need more trees around it, and for the most part the rides have good reliability, and the park is really being cleaned up its going to take a couple of years however to rehabilitate they park now that paramount did destroy it
also, jekoon, youre absolutly right, the crowds at kings dominion never cause trouble, in fact, the only places i have experienced trouble were six flags america and sfgadv, but im glad we have such clever people on the forums, gang's dominion, hah

Only been to KI and thought it was pretty good. Coasters weren't amazing but Drop Zone was orgasmic.

Got that right. Saw a picture of where it's placed last night. Horrible placing. It's right by the parking lot! Argh! It was placed perfectly at Geagua Lake... right next to the lake was the lift... and it was near a creek-ish area. Perfect place to put it, but now there's nothing there anymore!:down:

KI is a good park. Beast, FoF, Firehawk, Racer, and Vortex are good. Adventure Express is a great mine train, one of the best IMO. Backlot Stunt Coaster is fun, but its not unique to the park. Paramount did damage KI's atmosphere, praticulary by putting themed rides in unusual places (like putting IJ in Coney Mall instead of Action Zone), but I think KI fared better then the other parks. It's still a nice place.
So yes, KI would definatly be my favorite.

Of the 5 I've only been to Carowinds and Kings Dominion. While Carowinds is fun, I like Kings Dominion a little better.

Canada's Wonderland. Paramount kicked the place in the shins (spelling?) a number of times, but for a select three reasons: 1: Removed all the awesome merchandise that the park was well known for. 2: Gave it all second rate rides (Volare and SLC, anyone?) for a park whose attendance dictated rides of a much larger stature and being. 3: Removed the crowd favorite Zumba Flume for the aforementioned SLC. Whoopdeedoo!
I may be wrong about any point, but please, don't make a big deal about it. (I did little or no research on any point).

But the problem is that the long and hard ones are much too fast. Shorter can be better in some cases.
