I have been a fan of RCT for a very long time. I have taken notice that scenery is scattered all over the place. Sites are up then their down and it seems to be getting difficult to find what you want all the time. I keep a Premium Rapidshare account, and I have been collecting scenery for quite a long time. I am thinking about uploading everything I have, so that other users could find everything in one location. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Bad idea. Too large a file, installation issues, and you'd need every creator's permission to host their sets.
Also, we have an excellent link to the complete list here in the stickies, as well as hag's awsome app. There is no need for this rapidshare download.

Yeah, that's something you just cannot do. Most scenery makers don't visi this site anymore and you NEED permission from the creator to upload their work. If you were to upload someone's work without asking them first, they have every right to get you into a lot of trouble with the site you are uploading them to.
Downloading scenery is fine with what we currently have.

I'm not talking about 1 file. I agree the complete list of scenery is a wonderful tool. What I would like to do is work with the list. Right now some links work some don't, some links point to other sites and demand registration for download. I just think there could be a better alternative.

I was talking about doing them seperately. You are not allowed to upload anything though without written permission from the original creator of the objects. And as I said, you cannot get permission from enough creators to make this worthwhile, some of the best like J-Cat/Pumper have't visited this site for years!
If a CS designer wants you to register before you download their creations, then fair play to them. It's the smallest thing you can do seeing as making a fairly large set takes weeks, even months of work.
I recommend that you don't go any further with this, as you'll just be wasting your time.

If you read the posts in the Custom Scenery List thread, you'll learn exactly why some of the links may not work. Everyone is working really, really hard to fix sites, and links and even the list itself.
Perhaps instead of this idea (which as mentioned, won't work and isn't even needed) you could offer to volunteer to help out with the list we already have? They several times have asked for people willing to check other sites for new releases, to check to make sure links are current, and to help do other things. They are trying to do a somewhat thankless job all by themselves in what free time they have...I'm sure any sincere offer of help they get would be much appreciated.
And as Jonnyears pointed out, you can NOT get around having to register at certain sites to get sets. That's their right to require that, if you don't like it then don't use the CS, otherwise trying to get around that requirement will get you in deep trouble.

We already have a perfectly good resource for finding CS.
I always use the list and always find what i'm looking for!
Plus we have the scenery finding thread. Seems pretty organised if you ask me!

This is a problem that I've mentioned a few times. Unfortunetely it's not possible to host any custom scenery sets on ONE server, because of the needed permission of any scenery creator.
