Over at www.OrlandoUnited.com Sledge has posted an article with a photo of what he claims to be the 'Man with Hat and Cane' ghost.

The picture (and it's enhancements), they're quite creepy, so be warned.

Now, I thought that all of the ghosts in Haunted Mansion were real. I mean, come on, Disney should be able to pull that off right?
;)
I'll have to keep a look out when I go in October.

For some reason, I find this hilarious, April Fools joke or not. The idea of a ghost haunting a haunted house just strikes me as funny. That, and he had no better place to go?

So it's a ghost that several people claim looks the same, it just looks off into space without moving, and it's also been claimed to constantly be found in one general area. I think the ride builders put several of these mannequines all over the ride and never told anyone about it so that the staff can't even explain it. Well next time I go there I'll be sure to look for as many of them as I can.

It's not a ghost... in that particular scene at WDW Haunted Mansion, there is a window in the wall behind you, where the Cast Members can keep an eye on things. The image of the "ghost" is actually a Cast Member, in costume, watching through that window. Their reflection is being seen in the window opposite them, (the window behind the coffin,) but it can only been noticed under image enhancement, due to the extreme lack of light in the originating room.
This technique is how many of the effects in the Haunted Mansion are produced. It's a trick over a century old. In this particular case, it is not deliberate, it is an accident of timing and positions.

That a really cool effect, it doesnt make sense for a ghost to be haunting the Hauted mansion ride.

Is it just me or is that creepier than that being an actual ghost? But that makes sense; it always felt like I was being watched...

Aw, that sucks. Wouldn't have been so cool if it was real, but either way, it still looks pretty cool.

You're always being watched at Disney, I would know from trying to take pictures, there's no safe place in the rides to not get yelled at over the speaker.

I found (from riding and recording Paris' Pirates), that if you're very open about it (in Paris at least), they don't care (or no-one was looking). If I saw a camera, I smiled at it! :D

Is there a Blue Bayou in Paris? That's the only part I can get a snapshot of because they don't want to disturb the resteraunt.
