From what I can tell,this is NOT Expedition:Everest.This lies far more north and takes up a HUGE space.It seems to have been there for a while,since in the 2007,the same dirt was there too.Is this a junkyard or a construction zone for a secret project?:p

thats a secret ride theyre building now that nobody knows about and nobody will because its being hidding on google earth. once they finish the ride it will be open and everyone will go crazy because nobody even knew it was there. call me a lier, they told me personaly.

but to answer your question im almost positive it is dirt, maybe some rocks and mud too, definatly trees around it, and i think theres some buildings too. but mostly dirt.

Maybe if you zoom down close enough, you can see remnants of the Epcot wand. ;)

I think it's nothing for the time being. Looks like it's just a junk yard and could even be used for dispatching repair and construction vehicles throughout the Disney World resort.

I know that they just recently built a new fire station (although this is a bit big), but I don't think that it was that close to the Animal Kingdom property.

EDIT: Isn't there a new Four Seasons hotel going into Disney? Although that could be in the Buena Vista area...

I can tell you what it's not easier than I can tell you what it is...

It's not Everest. Everest is south-southeast of this spot.
It's not truck storage for the Safari. That's to the southwest, and is a paved parking lot.
It's not part of the Safari, either. Safari is northwest of this spot.
It's not the Four Seasons. That's on the NE side of WDW... the other side of the property from AK.
It's not the proposed site for Beastly Kingdom, either... that's the SW corner of AK, behind Rainforest Cafe.
It's not a fireworks launch site... no fireworks launch anywhere near AK, because of the animals.
It's not the Horticulture gardens of WDW... those are directly north of AK.

So, what it is we don't know. Right now it's a big, mostly empty lot. It's probably for future expansion of AK... but whatever it is, it's huge, easily half the size of the Safari. It would be a new land and a couple of E tickets, at least.

EDIT: According to my wife, who used to work at the park, that big space has been there for a long, long time. She has no idea what it's for, either. Apparently no one does... she's never heard a convincing reason, either.
