Today from Screamscape, it was reported as a possible RUMOR that Ripsaw could be leaving Alton Towers soon for another Merlin park. Again this is from Screamscape, so you never know what to expect. Although it most likely isn't true, let's hope not.

I've been planning a trip there for my first time for around next summer, and that would be really sad if it was removed. I know that it's just a themed Top Spin, but it's a major attraction in Forbidden Valley, and would be a stupid move on Merlin's part. I could probably see The Blade being removed first, but let's not hope anytime soon.

ON ANOTHER NOTE:
As I mentioned, I'm planning on a trip to Alton Towers. Is there anyone in the US that goes frequently? What kind of prices (airfare mainly) can I be expecting? What hotels would you suggest to stay at? Anyone's help is much appreciated!

SIR! If you do go, be sure to do it at the right time! A few of us UK people are thinking of having a UK Atari RCT3 Meet! :) It'd be amazing if you were to join us.

Methinks that it may replace Ramses Revenge at Chessington, I don't know what kind of condition it's in, but it's not the first time they've replaced an old attraction with the exact same thing! (Zodiac at Thorpe Park, and Enterprise, replaced an Enterprise from Drayton Manor) Although it would make sense for it to go to Thorpe, as it's the 'thrill' park, it's a bit silly it not having it. (Since they also got Samurai from Chessington.)

NO!
I haven't got around to going on it yet.
I need to get to Alton this year definitely.
There's not enough in the forbidden valley to excuse removing ripsaw.
Except Air the theme killer. What is that doing there? It completley ruins the theming...

That would be awesome! When are you guys planning on it? I'm going to try to fly over with a friend sometime (mainly because my family isn't interested) and would be awesome to have a forum meet!

Yeah, having a completely different "Oasis" area would have been a better solution, but then again Air would have probably been the only ride in the area. I think that they originally had that in mind, but it was cheaper for them to combine the areas. They were also supposed to actually have a theme for Air other than just "flight".

Well, we're not yet, but we will! Perhaps a Group MSN conversation is in order... :)

Your all going to Alton Towers. Why was I not informed .
:)

I think it may go as Merlin are trying to make it more family orientated. I think they should send it to Thorpe as a support ride for the new coaster on the new island being opened (well, island extension thing). I like ripsaw, more intense than Rameses Revenge. And Ramases is getting quite unreliable.

There's plenty for families already at Alton .
Although energizer/bone shaker used to be good.
That was the height of thrill rides for me when I went when I was 6.
Then there's loads of other ones.

Btw, do you have to be staying at the hotel to use the waterpark?
I've never been sure about that...:bulb:
