Atari 2600 Release Date

Anyone know the exact date? The closest I can find is October, 1977.

I don't think the exact date is known by regular people. Wikipedia only says October 1977. I think the only people that do know are the ones in Atari Interactive, Inc., the company that owns the ATARI brand as well as the properties. They probably still have all that paper work from back then.

If you can get a hold of Nolan Bushnell or Al Alcorn, they can tell you ;). Now, how to get in contact with them :confused:

No, you wouldn't go to Atari Interactive either. They own intellectual properties, i.e. TM's, copyrights, etc. They have no actual paperwork, or other direct links to any of the old Atari's. Curt has just about all of that stuff, who do you think they all go to when they need to do research on a property? ;)
