Well I always found this a possibility after the announcement that Six Flags New England had scrapped their plans to build the Dark Knight coaster, but now ScreamScape is giving more edvidence.

From Screamscape.com
Could Six Flags Magic Mountain become the benefactor from the whole red-tape snafu that happened over the The Dark Knight Coaster project in New England? According to a reader in attendance at the media day for The Dark Knight Coaster in Chicago, they spotted a pair of management types from Six Flags Magic Mountain at the event. Thinking quickly they walked over and asked if SFMM would be getting a Dark Knight Coaster soon since there was one just sitting around in New England doing nothing right now. While the SFMM staff didn’t confirm that as the reason they were there checking it out, they did break out in a big wide smile and said that SFMM could certainly use one. Timing wise it all works out too as Shapiro is supposed to be at SFMM in the near future for the re-launch of X2 and likely will be discussing with the staff the future plans for the park for 2009 as well.
As I’ve mentioned before, SFMM would be the perfect place for a winter launch for a Dark Knight Coaster since they could probably getting it ready just in time for the launch of the movie DVD before Christmas if they start soon.

I see this happening very soon, the only problem is the location. I don't see where they can put it. I mean throw out that stupd Grinder Gear Works or move it and you have a nice area behind it. Also there is quite a bit of room to expand the entire Gotham City area, but seeing the time constraints, they would be working extremly quickly.

What do you guys think?

Screamscape has been much more right then wrong recently.

All these conditions seem right for SFMM.. except for the fact of X2.. so we'll see.

Doesn't this park have enough coasters already?

Six Flags should put this in a park with a fewer coaster count. If they're dealing with Magic Mountain, shouldn't they be worrying about other things like cleaning up the park and removing some of the old stuff left from removed rides? I've heard that it's in need of some cleaning...

Although this is all Screamscape speculation, I hope that Six Flags would choose another park.

^The park is really clean. Way better than it was 3 years ago. This is also a family attraction, exactly what the park needs. Plus seeing that they put in one in the other Flagship park, Six Flags Great Adventure, I don't see why they shouldn't have it in the west coast Flagship park.

^ Good point as family attractions are always a need, but I still think that another park should receive it. Besides, isn't there a coaster already pretty much confirmed for the 2009 season? I guess that they're breeding this park as a Six Flags Cedar Point. ;)

Good to hear that they're cleaning up the place, though.

Lt is screamscate.com..

I still don't understand what the problem is with Screamscape... :bulb:

^I don't see the problem either. The percentage of correct rumors coming out of that site is far over 50%.. and for most rumor sites, that would be a far reach.

Well I can see them actully doing this and the 2009 coaster too. If you hype up the Dark Knight that will buy some time to open the coaster as late as deep June or early July. Both I assume will be family oriented and honestly how much would construction crew cost? You just keep the same crew for a matter of months to work on the 3 rumored attractions, Dark Knight, 09 Coaster, and Wiggles World. I can see that this can work but I don't think they are trying to pull a Cedar Point. These coasters seem like they would be much more for the family side, something that Cedar Point hasn't done in years.

^CP added a whole kids area this year...

I would realy like to see that happening, as Six Flags Magic Mountain is the nearest Six Flags park from me, but I realy doubt it. X2 this year and a coaster next year would be more than enough. As Westcot said, they should give The Dark Night to a park with a lower coaster count, maybe Kentucky Kingdom or St. Louis.

If they do, I wouldn't be surprised if they pull a Cedar Point. They would have 15 coasters, and Cedar Point has 17, and might be getting rid of Wildcat. If that happens, (Wich I doubt) Cedar Point would have 16 coasters, and SFMM would be 1 coaster away from sharing a record.

And they've added 1, count em kids, 1 new coaster since 2003. WOO! But I did forget, CP is the Root of all Evil. I wonder if Lewis Black can get it on his show?

Pulling a Cedar Point? Hell, what is that? Making a complete and successful amusment park? Wait, thats not SFMM.. I forgot.

Actually, I'd be surprised if they pull a SFMM, which.. might I add, Shapiro has said time and again, will not be happening. The possibilities of the park getting the ride is already slim enough.. and getting a DK would lower the possibility of a 2009 coaster even lower then they already are.

Come on boys.

Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if SFMM tries to make a run at "the most coasters" title again.

^They said they would.. but the park owners said somewhere along the lines of.. 'a while from now'.. ;)

Everybody im sorry to announce. Yesterday June 1st at ACE day, they told us that it is not The Dark Night or Tony Hawks Big Spin.

^I already knew that, I read an interview somewhere and when asked about the Dark Knight in SFMM, they laughed. Oh well, the reason that they don't have any major dark rides like these is because of their neighbors. Think about it. Universal Studios and Disneyland? That's pretty intimidating. That's why they go for the coaster perspective. They can easily beat out Disney and Universal in that line of work.

P.S. about the Big Spin, we already have one up north in Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.
