I just wanted to know what everyones thoughts were on this:

Opening January 2009 at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort, Florida is a new attraction called the American Idol Experience. There are three ways to experience this attraction. 1)Watch: You can watch other park visiters preform on a stage, which will be designed like the one on American Idol. 2)Vote: Vote for the best signer by using a keypad at your seat. 3)Perform: Think you got what it takes to be the next American Idol? Then go through the audition room where you will be judged by a disney cast member. The performers with the highest number of votes at the end of each show will at an end of the day grand finale show. The winner of the Grand Finale show will be chosen as the best signer of the day and will recieve a Disney Dream Ticket. This allows to make a reservation to audition in front of an American Idol representitive at an actual audition of the T.V. show.

Here is an artists concept of the attraction:

Oh dear....please...no....I wish this wasn't true

I hate 'reality' TV, and I wouldn't want it spilling over into my theme park experience.

I know what your saying I was kinda shocked when i heard about it too.
I wish they hadn't brought AI to Disney.
Its not even a disney show
But in Disney's defense I think it will bring a lot of people to WDW
So it was probably a smart move.

"Money, money, money, money... MONEY! Money, money, money, money... MONEY!" Now I got that song stuck in my head! ;)

Yep, I believe that Disney announced it a couple of months ago. Disney wants franchises, and Disney got franchises. This is worse than the recent Pixar-ification Disney is doing to all of its parks.

I think it's a stupid idea, a REALLY STUPID IDEA, but at least they'll have something to put in that miserable ABC Theatre in DHS which has been almost abandoned for the past 10 years or so.

Just thank God that it wasn't a permanent High School Musical attraction.

I really am hoping that Hollywood Studios doesn't become Hannah Montana-School Musical Land or something.

If it shortens the lines for TOT & R n' RC then it's done its job for me. As for the experience itself, I have absolutely no interest.

Do they preform, or perform?

:haha::up:

I like the idea of the show, but Disney should've came up with something original from Disney, not American Idol... And making it easier to win. Like, the winer at the end of the show gets fast passes available all day long, free entrance tickets, or something like that instead of having to win to hundreds of people.

If this is what The Imagineers are thinking these days, it's time for a new crop, Or for Disney to just end it all...

I believe it's what management has told them to do.

And if they want to keep their jobs, they do what they're told...

The management needs to have their heads examined. Just because this "Carp" is popular on t.v. doen't mean it translates into a Theme Park Experience.

Yeah i hope it doesn't stay too long but i fear it will. They shouldn't have made a reality t.v. comp into a ride experience.

I'll give it 1 year 4 months and 21 days.

Care to place your bets.

Just kidding. They will probably come with something dummer in California. But they won't do that for a while seeing they just renovated DCA.
