Hello, Im new to making Custom Scenery and have come across a problem. I have watched Surfingoz's "First object" tutorial video and have got to the point where he adds a texture to his cube, however I have no textures despite going to one of the links (I think the first) to get a texture and save it, when I try to find the texture, I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Also, I have googled (So please don't have a go at me) and I have no idea on what to do with my UVmapper, I have LithUnwrap and I don't know how to use to for specific RCT3 stuff.
Help would be great, thanks

Have no idea where the texture you downloaded went to, but if you are using SketchUp, you don't need a UV mapper. You simple prepare a texture of your choice. making sure it is perfectly square and sized 'to the power of 2' - which means it needs to be 2x2, 4x4, 8x8, 16x16, 32x32, 64x64, 128x128, 256x256, or 512x512 pixels in size. You can even use Paint to make them. Save them in a folder. And then in SketchUp you 'import' the texture you want and place it on the side of the cube, pinning it in place, and following the rest of the tutorial.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, but when I try to import I can't even find any pictures, I will go into my pictures, where I saved the textures, but it says "This folder is empty"
P.S sorry I didnt reply earlier, I went to sleep.
Thanks,

Try .png. Otherwise, navigate folders until you can find the pics you need?

Do you use Vista? If so, that's where your problem is, it uses a different file.
You don't need to have your textures stored in the MyPictures folder. Right click anywhere on your desktop, and make a new folder. Label it "Custom Scenery" or something like that, and put your textures in there. Then in SketchUp when you want to import a texture, just navigate to that folder. That should take care of the problem. Textures can be bmp, jpg and png. I use png myself.

Ahh, Vista...thats becoming a pain. but oh well, do you think that making the file on my desktop will work with vista?

Please only give correct advice, thanks.

Please only give advice that fixes the problem at hand. Advice that may be true but is completely unrelated to the problem will only confuse people as demonstrated here.

Power of 2 , Means the texture is a special size
think of 512,512,256x256,64x64,4x4 and even more.

Right, ok I get that, but I still can't get the textures to come up when I try to import them.

EDIT: Also, on another topic, at this thread: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=621198
The people who created the park have like...People (The like toll people in red uniform, forgot what there called) in what I think is a custom made building, and Vodhin has done it in his vermont theme, so its like a shop and peeps can buy stuff from there, any idea on how to do this?
EDIT #2: Also, I clicked on your sigg link to your park, and you have red lights, could you please post a link on how to get these? thanks.

DxP Guardian - See the texture that Robin atached? That one is 512 pixels tall by 512 pixels wide. It's perfectly square, and is a size that is included in the one's refered to as the 'power of two' that are listed above.
Try this. Right click on Robin's texture (I'm sure he wont mind) and click 'copy'. Then go to that folder I told you to make on your desktop. Open that folder and paste Robin's texture inside.
Now go back and open SketchUp and open your object you are trying to make.
To 'import' a texture click on "File", at the top left. From the drop-down menu select 'Import". A menu will open. You want to navigate to that folder on your desktop. So click on the 'desktop' icon on the left side of that menu. It will change to show all the folders on your desktop. Find the one you made for your Custom Scenery and click it.
That folder will now open on the menu. The copy of Robin's texture you placed in there should appear. Click on it and the menu will close but in SketchUp you'll see that the texture is attacted to your cursor. You can then place it on the object.
Try that and see if the texture shows up.

The UFO Texture I assume...
you need to resize the image in an external image editor such as Gimp. Resizing inside sketchup will not affect the actual size of the image, which MUST be a power of 2 and square to be imported into the game.
