This may seem very strange, but has anyone ever heard of one-way walls?

Here is my idea, while people are standing on a footpath, they can see right through the walls from one side to a rollercoaster, as shown in the pic below. But when riding the rollercoaster (from the other side of the wall, These people see a wall! as it is not transparent from the other side)

(i know im bad at drawing! lol)

Anyone think they can make this?

just a thought.

So you want a see-through wall is what yer asking about like the sunglasses that have designs on the front yet let you see right through em:D

Thats really easy. But I don't think that it's realistic.

Sure it is, though in RL it's not quite as 100% solid on the coaster side it kinda shows shadows but that's about it. Trying to remember if I saw such a thing at Disney, Six Flags or Kings Island....*brain cramp* :weird:

why not some 1 way glass? you can make a wall thaats only 1mm thick and make one side black with reflection and the other side a dark glass?

if you dont make the black DS then it will work

what your talking about is a two-way mirror. Disney uses a two way mirror in the Haunted Mansion for the endless hallway scene.

Actually I already made a couple of these...by mistake when I forgot to select a double-sided texture to a flat plan!

haha, well i have no idea how to sculpt a wall on my own, i only know how to import scenery and play the game..

but while we are on the scenery subject, does anyone know how to get all the custom scenery i have in every standard rct3/soaked/wild level? instead of having to wait so long for each piece of custom scenery to show up in the list by researching it?

There's not really a way unless it's already showing up you have to wait unfortunately

or just load in sandbox scenario editor and not the in game scenarios.

there is a way to do this, have a flat texture with a texture on only one side (not DS and it will be completely invisible from the other side.. wouldn't be that useful but yea its possible.. i walk around a lot these days and walk straight through a wall. its as if i have got super powers suddenly :P

thats what happens omn video games if you find a glitch say like out of the map in CoD4. But yeah that is awesome but yet stupid, becayse what is the point unless you using it for dark rides

When I was makilng CS, that used to be a mistake I made in the beginning, one way walls. I was making walls with no depth to them and it would texture one side and not the other. This could have easily been fixed with the "Double sided" texture option but I didn't know about that option. A problem with this idea is the lack of realism, I'd be pretty freaked out if I saw a roller coaster, went on it and a giant wall appeared out of nowhere. I'm sure though that you could find a use for them though =)

Umm, there is a fairly common technique called Scrimming. In short, you hang a mostly transparent curtain between the ride vehicle and scenery. Light projected on the front of the scrim will reflect back to the user, while lighted items behind it can also be scene. This technique is often used in haunted house type rides when you want something translucent to appear in front of other scenery objects.

thats a rather easy thing to do, it sometimes happens on flat planes of CS if you dont make it double sided, if you want i can make one, what do you want on the side you cant see through?
