Well here it is the new competition of '08

And i came up with a FAQ to help you understand this before you join.

Q: Now you may be thinking what is this going to do for me?

A: This contest is not only a competition but a sort of tutorial also that will help you build skills to build a better park.

Q:What kind of skills will I learn?

A: You will learn things such as how to build better themed buildings, how to support rides with actual supports (bad pun), a theme, and a surrounding area, how to build a better slide structure, and other skills.

Q: How many people will be allowed to join?

A: For now 15 if we have an excess of people then we may let more in.

Q: Are we going to start with a template?

A: Yes, not because I want to limit you but because then 2 things, 1. Everyone starts the same. 2. You don't have to worry about formatting your park to have the best format.

Q:How will the rounds and scoring work?

A:Simply put you will get a quick lesson that I will post. Following the lesson you begin on the project that is related to the lesson. You then turn that in. You must also make a video showing off your work. Here's how the scoring works they all are given a score out of 100. Throughout the competition you keep a running score where the Project is worth 75% and the Video is worth 25%. After all the rounds are done (approx. 10) the person with the highest score wins the title of King of Parks '08.

Q: OK how can I enter?

A: You'll first post under this thread saying you are interested. Following that you will recieve a PM. After you do that you will respond. After that you're in.

Q: If I need help who can I go to?

A: 2 groups of people, My self or other judges, or if you guys would like I can set it up so you have a person (who's also competing) be a helper to you and you would help him.

Q:How long do we have to do each project? How long will they take?

A: Basicily I will give you two weeks to do each project. Anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours total. If it looks like a challenge will take longer I will inform you.

Well if you have any questions, comments, concerns, or would like to compete please post.

I am sorry, but the quiz idea doesn't seem like a good one. Creative but it might just add unneeded difficulty.

Its just basicily to see if you can understand the lesson. But if its going to stop people from joining i can get rid of it.

I would have to disagree with the quiz idea, maybe just self questioning, but not scoring. I might join this myself, how long will the challenges take and how long will we have to complete them?

If it is that short with that much time to work, go ahead and sign me up. I should be able to do this. I just hope it will help me start building stuff worthy of posting on the forums. :)

Im kinda interested. Id like to get better. Anyway, whats the pacing going to be like? If its every day I dont think I can do that. What all does the video involve?

Im have intermediate skills I guess.... Not here to win, just to get some insight and see what I manage to come up with.

I'm totally in on this. I can do supports pretty well, but I always get pissed off at the buildings I make.
