Ok, I've recently been trying to create my own custom walls for a sci-fi themed park, but I can't seem to get the walls I make to place properly.
I've tried using Milkshape 3D and Google Sketchup 6 to create virtually identical copies but I still have exactly the same problems!
Here (http://trecool999.recoding.net/Walls.zip) is the download for all the files.
Test it out in RCT3 and you will see what the problem is. I'd be grateful also, if it was my model that is the problem, for someone to post a fixed version of it. :(
Thanks in advance.

I'm not going to root through all your files but here are some things to try:
fix orientation button (when using sketchup) if you are using the new importer things are different so i suggest using version 17 or lower (sketchup is right handed z-up i believe and milkshape is right handed y-up)
the centre of a RCT3 square is on the co-odernate 0,0,0 (origin were all axis meets) and 0,0,0 is were the object rotates around when you press "Z" to rotate in RCT3.
also see if you are placing it OK in your modeller, , a wall should be exactly 2 squares away from the origin on one of the horizontal axis and be 4 units wide and the middle of that should line up with the origin, as shown here:

those are all i can think that could cause it.
*edit* i imported your 3ds, it is your placement, have you got the plugins for sketchup? here is yours compared to mine:

if you want it quarter tile you need it like this:

the same applies for milkshape, just transfer the dotted lines to the smallest squares in milkshape

Stu- Your alignment is correct if you are using Full tile in the SID (or 1/4 tile for the smaller one).
He's actually go the correct placement if he set the SID up as a "Wall" placement. If that isn't working, fist make sure that the your model has been "fixed up" (Different modeling programs have different directions for UP) and then you might try rotating the wall 90 degrees: the regular walls in RCT are modeled on the center line, along one axis- if it's the wrong axis, then the walls don't sit on the edge of the RCT3 grid, but inside it...

^ well i always set my walls to full tile and have them set like the last picture, i always dislikes the setting "wall" for cs with no collision. i don't know about milkshape, but if you have the wall set like the small wall in the second pic and have it set to either 1/4 tile or full tile in sketchup then it would be in the middle of a square instead of the edge of it and if it was set to wall then it would have a 1w gap either side and be offset 1w

Ok guys, thanks for your help so far. I'll try out what you said Stu.
I tried out what you said and now it places correctly. But now, when you try to place (and move) the wall down, rather than putting it where the mouse is, it will drop it 1 or 2 squares offset from where it's supposed to be. Any ideas?
I did it! Although I had to improvise. I had to double the size of the wall and set it to "Full Tile" rather than "Wall" so it doesn't quite act like a wall. But it'll do.
Thanks guys!
