View Full Version : Importer Question (not a silly one!)

Will the importer ever use the normal Windows native file open boxes, instead of the custom (?) ones in it right now (when opening a texture, especially)? I am asking because in Vista being able to have the breadcrumb bar and inset instant search box would be quite helpful.
Thanks!

Probably not unless someone re-writes it. I dunno the state of it though so I could be wrong.
I would like to see them work on making things cleaner and improving features rather than concentrate on working with the native file open boxes.

It's easier to find things if you keep it in a very organized manner. I create a folder for each set, and in that folder, I create a folder for each piece, I find that this makes things easier to locate. I also keep a seperate folder in there for the textures that I am going to use in that set. Hopefully this would make it easier to find, so you don't really need a search bar. (I just hope they will fix the annoying ping every time you click to get a texture.)

The texture box is the only really custom one, if the other ones are not native, there is nothing can do about it.

Ah, okay. For some reason, some newer programs don't spawn the Instant Search box in file open, but some really old ones (Paint Shop Pro 8, RCT2) do. No idea why. :p

Well it opens Paint Shop because I guess it sees that it's you default texture maker I guess. I may be wrong though.
