Hi everyone,
I've just finished the entrance of 'De Efteling'.
Those who don't know the park, it's located in the Netherlands (Kaatsheuvel).

The back of the entrance (I've made the exit on the side of the building) :

Special thanx to stu-2693 for smoothing the building and reduce the polygons

Wow, it's great!
Very usefull for someone who will recreate the Efteling!
Are you gonna make more Efteling-objects?

I don't know it yet, I've been in the Efteling before but I was only 6 years old, I don't remember much of the attractions.
Maybe I will, but I don't know it for sure.
Thanx for the reply :)

I don't really mean the attractions. More the lamps and maybe some storys. But when not, this entrace is brilliant! :D:up:

you need to smooth/weld some of those vertexes so that it isnt blocky :)

Can you do that with Sketchup?

yes, use the eraser while holding the ctrl key ;)

I've tried that, and it works well in sketchup, but when I export it and try it out in RCT, it's still blocky.
The number of Vertices is still the same as before :(

are you using the export script belgabor created ? you need to smooth them and not hide them (using the shift key to hide) if you accidentally hid some go to edit-->unhide all to show them, it does work i assure you, its the lines you should be smoothing ;) the number of vertices's will not change, it just smooths it and creates a smoother surface (i didn't know vertices's were shown during export actually...)

Yes I'm using SU2ASE version 0.4, I see a smoother surface in sketchup, but I don't see it in RCT.
The number of vertices's are shown on the bottom left of your screen during export

Maybe there are faces between the inside and the outside of the roof. Everywhere where a line is could be a face inside of the roof if it has a seperate inside and is not just double sided.

well, whatever the vertex number is, your doing something different than you should :p
here is what it should look like before and after and what it should not look like ;)

it seems to be smoothed from what i can see... if that doesnt work i do not know.. if you are really stuck you can send the model via PM and i can see if i can see if there is anything stopping it from being smooth ;)
\/ this post was supposed to be under yours ;)

The roof has just an outside, no inside faces.
I've made the roof faces double sided.
Here's a pic from sketchup :

Ok I'll send the model to you, but I'm new here on the forum, how do you attach an file to a private message?
you will have to upload it some were, rapidshare or filefront people usually use becouse they are free, you then just paste the link so the other person can access it ;)

Wow, a very good replica of the real one.
Good luck on trying to smooth the faces/polygons if you can with Stu.
It's always good to think about that. ;)
Keep up the good work! :D

you should change the first post from "Vertices's"
to "faces" or "polygons" ;) although in the process of reducing polygons you did reduce vertexes too, but if you say polygons everyone will know what your taing about ;)
my posts are above other people's becouse at the moment the forum has issues occasionally that posts swap around with the person above/below them ;)
