In one of the screenshots for IW, we see a Heads Up Display (HUD) of Tien powering up his Tri Beam to blast Cell. What's interesting about the HUD is the power meter to the right of the screen. There is a zone marked SAFE and a zone marked DANGER with numbers ranging from 50 to 350. To the top of the screen there is a counter, possibly for the number of hits to your opponent.

What are your thoughts and comments about this feature? Do you think the numbers stand for total ki used, or the total damage of the attack? Maybe it's part of your total health. One thing's for sure, I won't be keeping the No-Count's Tri Beam in the safe zone :D

Huh? Never seen a timer before?

It's there to show you how much time there is available for you to finish the event. The symbol in it is the infinity (if what you said about the timer being a pointer telling you how many times you need to hit him...then what point would the damage displayed in the right part of the screen have? or the safe/danger deal...a hit is a hit no matter how unsafe it is...anyone could just do safe hits and go through it without any risk...also it would mean you'd need to hit him infinite times...which any logical individual should be able to tell is not a likely parameter for this mission's completion), meaning this event has no time limit.

As for the numbers, obviously they're not your health since your health won't be randomly chosen by your press of a button as the little blue arrow goes up and down, there's a pic of ten's face with a yellow line in the left down corner...the line prolly is your health/ki. The numbers most likely are damage....and there's probably some analogy and ratio of damage inflicted/health lost that has an ideal balance for you to win the event with...such slight storymode things are never really all that deep, in the time it took me to write this i'm sure anyone could have done that event over 10 times.

Many many games implement that sort of thing...using your imagination about it while taking into consideration the general existence of games should provide you with an answer as good as any other thus making this sort of topics pointless in the least.

I wasn't looking for an answer. I wanted to know what other people think about this new game feature that's why I asked for thoughts and comments. Although your response is interesting, I was hoping for a more colorful discussion than a lengthy dissertation on game parameters.

I think you can dissect what i think about it from my post.

If you want me to point it out then here it is: It's nothing new, nothing special, nothing that will have my attention long enough for me to like or dislike it.

it looks pretty cool to me, about time we get a mini-game for the tri-beam attack, it seems much closer to the anime, since tien had to target cell and keep his aim centered while blasting cell's ugly face into the ground. :D

I just can't wait to get that game, just cause of this Tri-Beam mini game !

About parameters. Frankly i doubt that IW will be very advanced in this category, few bars and thats pretty much it.

I agree, the mini-games are noteworthy and add a good impression to what little we know about the game at this point.

hm my opinion on this is thats not really a counter for how many hits u get on ur opponent but maybe its a timer so u have to kill cell before it runs out. and about the meter on the right. safe means it a weak attack but it wont drop ur health as much and the higher it goes, the stronger it is but more life it drains from u. but my guess is u have to kill the opponent without draining ur own health and before the time runs out. sounds good huh?

A mini game like this will really be fun. Since this is like a first-person perspective, it almost makes it seem like you're firing the Tri Beam from your own two hands. II wonder if there are any other blasting mini games for Infinite World
