Looks like you forgot to 'select all' before you exported your ase file, so groups are missing?

That's a very nice offer to help, and I'm not trying to flame anyone, but that's not helping him learn at all.
Learning how to properly group and export your object is something thats funadamental. If he can't do that then he might as well forget about making custom scenery. Is someone else going to do all the work for him? I think that will get old very fast.
coastercrazy, I have sincere doubts as to how well you have even bothered to read and follow the tutorials already out there. This part is covered in great detail. You really need to stop, go back and learn how to import a simple cube CORRECTLY. Only once you have that done successfully should you move onto other things. Otherwise you are soon going to get frustrated because things aren't working right, and people here are going to get frustrated telling you to follow the tutorials and learn how first.
People are willing to help if it looks like you are making an effort to learn...

Don't give up. No one is suggesting that you should, but sometimes we need to start off slow, learn all we can, and then move onto bigger stuff. I have no doubt this set will turn out great...just don't get in a hurry.
