Well, I quite enjoyed the Zero-G rolls on a Zamperla Volare that I rode recently. It felt really weird, and yet really cool at the same time. You sort of end up on the little cage thing that holds you in.
However, the coolest one to look at has to be the Norwegian Loop on Fahrenheit or Speed Monster.

My favorite, easily, is Maverick's famed heartline.
I was lucky enough to see it in action.. and would have payed MUCH more to ride it just once before it they took it out. It looked.. and still does look.. incredible.

1.Flying Snake Dive (Stormrunner,Hersheypark) - Airtime followed by extreme rolls in a split second.
2.Norweigian Loop (Fahrenheit,Hersheypark)- Incredible air entering and exiting and pretyy intense forces on the loop part.
3.Pretzel Loop (Superman:UF,Six Flags GAdv)- Intense as hell. Also, being on your back was one intense, unique experience.

^^Speaking of Hollywood Rockit, I noticed "the drill" today in the construction area. I'm not sure if they actually drilled, but they were moving it into position this morning when the park first opened. Sorry, but I was too busy with my walk-ons on The Mummy, MIB, and The Simpson Ride to stick around to find out.;)

Nothing special, but I really like the vertical loop on Nighthawk. Like a pretzel loop, the g's while on your back feel really good. The Hhulk's zero-g is also a pretty damn sweet way to start a ride.

^Purist Extremist!
If it wasn't so ridiculously painful, I'd give credit to the SLC's double roll-over. But as it stands, I like Steel Bullet's majorly overbanked turn and cobra rolls on nearly any coaster.

Shei-Kras first inversion. It felt awesome, especially when you're JUST the wrong size for the restraint. Ah, yes. I love just floating between the seat and restraint.
Also, don't kill me for my stupidity in terminology!
Westcot

^ Haha, that happens to me a lot on SheiKra. Somehow I always get one of the "fat guy seats."
It's kind of weird how much space you have in those seats in the inversions even if you click it as far as it will go.

I must say I agree with every single thing in this post, inversions have to be spread out!
Don't be silly! It is one of the best parts of the ride.
towersdude
09-21-2008, 02:34 PM
Inversions should be seperate, but not spread out as such. I'll admit I dont like Colossus' quadroll, it's slow repetitive and boring with no force. For me a great inversion or general manouver has to be forceful, a bit rough (although many will disagree), and be in a great setting and place in the layout.
Colossus corkscrews are probably one of my fav inversions.
After riding the other day, Shockwaves standup 0G roll is awesome.
But by far the best is all of Nemesis' inversions. Yes I'm a bit of a fanboy but that's why! The first wingover is forceful and fast, the 0G roll is incredible with sideways force, the loop is breathtaking looking down into the pit and blood and it packs a punch, and the final wingover is positioned perfectly in the terrain with great pace and force.
But I can say the same about the helix and stall turn.
The Dave
09-21-2008, 02:46 PM
I have to agree that Collousus's corkscrews are the best part of the ride but I still think that those barrel rolls make a nice ending to the ride. They almost tell you that the end is coming as they are so slow yet in my opion they are still good fun.
luke_1990
09-21-2008, 02:58 PM
^ Id agree that the quad in line twists are a nice end to the ride if the seats didn't dig in as much, as they are by far the most uncomfortable seats Ive been in due to the head banging and the issue with the quad.
