I should say, I've not yet done the looking (haven't had time), but my wife says she's looked, and couldn't find what we're hoping to find.

On our last trip to Walt Disney World, we saw some neat stuff for sale for a Mickey Mouse-themed bathroom. At the time, we weren't expecting a child, so we decided to wait. We also figured we'd probably be able to buy the stuff online or at a local store.

Well, our first child is due in January, and we're still thinking about theming her bathroom around Mickey Mouse, or possibly around the Peanuts characters.

My wife indicates that she hasn't been able to find the bathroom stuff online for either of those.

By any chance, has anyone seen Mickey Mouse or Snoopy (Peanuts) bathroom stuff at a local store or online? (If your local store happens to be at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, well, thanks, but that doesn't really help! :D) We plan on taking a closer look at the Snoopy Boutique at Cedar Point in a couple of weeks, but we don't recall seeing bathroom items there.

Thanks!

Well, I presume it's the same in the US, but I'm sure that there's usually a bit of bathroom-based merchandise in Disney Stores. Also, various stores will often have licensed material.

But, the majority of stuff you'll find is Towels, viddy - http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1223399110/ref=sr_nr_n_1?ie=UTF8&rs=1057792&keywords=mickey%20mouse&bbn=1063236&rnid=1057792&rh=n%3A1055398%2Cn%3A1057792%2Ck%3Amickey%20mouse%2Cn%3A1063236

What kind of stuff, specfically, were you thinking of? Like the Mickey Suite at Disneyland Hotel? :)

Some of the things we saw at WDW included items like Mickey drawer pulls, shower curtains, bath mats, and wall borders. I'm trying to recall for certain, but I think we even saw some things like faucet handles. (I'm not positive about that, but, for some reason, it sticks in my mind.)

Since I posted that message, my wife sent me an e-mail indicating that she found a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse setup at www.disneyshopping.com, but I still didn't see the hardware there. I have been able to scrounge up a few more web sites with Peanuts and Mickey Mouse related items, but the stuff is rather widely scattered. It'd be great if there was a site that had a wide selection in one spot. It would be even better if there was a store in the Detroit area where we could see the stuff in person before buying it.

Yesterday, we stopped at a Target, and saw some sea-themed items. A couple of the items made me nervous because I felt they had small parts that could be yanked off, and would then become a choking hazard. If we had ordered the items on-line, it would have been very difficult to notice those hazards. For that reason, I'd really prefer being able to see the items in person to ensure they meet my safety standards!

Do you have a Disney Store local to you? I'm sure the staff there would be willing to help you locate items.

Congratulations Harpo!

I haven't seen anything you are looking for.

Sea theme? My downstairs bathroom is beach-themed. Crazy stuff.

I'd vote for a mickey theme personally. Mickey is sill well know while the Peanuts character's aren't. Everyone knows who Mickey is and I'm sure everyone will. Which means Mickey stuff will be easire to find. However, my only guesses to where you can find them are on the internet or the Disney store. A local Wal-Mart or Target may have some towels and stuff.

EDIT: Oh and by the way congrats on the baby!

Congrats Harpo!

Definitely go for Mickey. Disney runs quite a few catalogs, I'm sure at least one has a bit on home decor...

As of last night, my wife is showing a preference for the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse set, but we'll see. At Kohl's, my wife found a turtle pattern she liked, but I thought it looked a bit scary. I found a fish pattern I liked, but she thought that one looked a bit scary. Ugh.

We used to have a couple of Disney stores near us. I know at least one of them has closed, but I'm not sure about the other one.

When this kid arrives, I hope she realizes that she's expected to go to a lot of amusement parks with her ol' dad! :D Shouldn't be a problem. We have absolutely no doubt that she got her start at Cedar Point's Hotel Breakers, room 3555, on the morning of Opening Day 2008!

Thank you for the "Congrats" notes!

Harpo- I know there's still a store at Great Lakes Crossing.. I was just there two weeks ago. ;) I've not been to Somerset in a long time, but there used to be one there.

Somerset's store did close. There also was one at Oakland Mall. I'm not sure if that one's still open.

Do you know if there are any bathroom-related items at the Snoopy Boutique? I'll be at The Point on the 17th, 18th, and 19th, so, if there are bathroom-related items there, it'll certainly be worth our while to wait until we've had a look at them.

(I'm hoping my flight is not late on the 17th -- I have a meeting that day in Natick, MA. My flight is supposed to get into Detroit at 6:33 PM, at which time my wife is picking me up at Metro Airport, and we're heading straight to Sandusky, with the hope of getting in some of the HalloWeekend stuff on Friday evening. In my past experience, that's when the spooky stuff tends to be less crowded.)

Hopefully the spooksters won't scare my wife too much, or we might wind up with our daughter being born right at Cedar Point! :D (Obviously, she can't go on the rides, but we're expecting to go through the haunted walk-through attractions.)

Does a "baby on board" count for letting us go into the House on Boo Hill? :D

I think there was a Disney Store at Lakeside, too... but I haven't been there in years. But, like I said.. I know the one at GLC is still there.

I really don't recall seeing any bathroom stuff inside Snoopy Boutique... but, then again... I was never looking for it, so I may have completely overlooked it.

A quick google search turned up these links you might find useful:

Thanks. I did locate those items yesterday (via Yahoo -- what can I say, I'm old fashioned!), and forwarded them to my wife. She didn't like them -- she wants something colorful, so the shades of gray didn't work for her.

I found various Peanuts decals and wall borders that were quite colorful and could go with these items, but she still wasn't satisfied.

(I've been in the Snoopy Boutique many times, and also don't recall seeing bathroom stuff, but I also wasn't looking for it, so it is possible I missed it. I suspect that it isn't there, however.)
