ok, I know this kinda stands out compared to other threads here, but I have a couple questions about disney world. when is the best time to visit, and how long are the lines for major attractions during those times? I've never been but I plan to next year or the year after. and not trying to be a pest but I have one more... what's the best disney resort to stay at for a family of four on a $70-150 budget?
thanks

This really belongs in the Amusement Park discussion in the RCT3 Forum. I'll ask for it to be moved.

$70-150? I hope you're talking per night. In that case I'd recommend either the Pop Century Resort or the All Star (Music, Movies or Sports) Resorts. Those are about $80-$90 a night. You get bus transportation to the parks and the rest of Walt Disney World. The busiest times of year are during the summer (duh) and November-December. September seemed to me to be the slowest part of the year. The lines were nothin' during this time. During the high peak seasons the lines for top attractions can be hours. Just utilize the Fastpass system and you will hit all of your favorites. Don't take it too seriously, though. Some people make the mistake of trying to rush around and fastpass certain things at certain times, blah blah blah. Just enjoy your stay at Walt Disney World and eat at Pizzafari in the Animal Kingdom. :o

Really, if you have a $70-150 budget, you should probably stay off-property. There's a bunch of nice Marriott-owned hotels in the area that we usually stay at, and most are better than staying at a Disney resort in my opinion. :)
You get free breakfast, cheaper rooms (with more room and features than most regular Disney resort rooms), and most of them have theme park shuttles.

Don't do it. Dead people work there.

Man, Aoshi, have you been brainwashed to tell everyone to visit Pizzafari? ;)
I might be by next Tuesday or Thursday to have some delicious pizza, yum!

I didn't see any dead people when I was there last week. :bulb:

You didn't go to the Halloween party, rb?
To the original poster:
The last time I went to Orlando was years ago, and I remember we got a really good deal in Kissimee (sp?) at one of the hotels (can't remember the name). It offered free shuttle bus service to the parks at Disney. We were a family of five then: two adults, three kids. That was back in '94 and I want to say it was less than $50 a night.
Staying at a Disney resort has its perks, but even with AAA discounts its very hard to get a room under $100. You may want to check rates during what is considered the "off-season" time of year.

Thanks, I was thinking of staying at a disney resort for the extra magic hour I hadn't really thought about it much (what else is new?) but I realize that you won't need that in the off season, so now I'll check out some other hotels in the area.

I personally perfer staying on property, instead of off property. I've only been in the low end resorts but I did enjoy them. The Extra Magic Hours are very nice as well, even during the off season. After all, when else is MK open until 2 am?
