Alton Towers trip

Im going to alton towers with a friend on sunday, and I just wondered if anyone else here has been, and what you thought of it. Neither of us has been to AT before but weve both been to thorpe so I would welcome comparisons between the two. Any info about rides, que time, fastrack, atmosphere or anything else would be great.

If you get there when the park opens, head over to Forbidden Valley straight away.

^ Yup! Try to get on Air and Nemesis as soon as you can as the queue times fill up quick then head over the Rita (if you want to go on it) as that also fills up quickly but isn't the best ride there imo...

Ive been to both Alton and Thorpe.

Both are great but Alton is great by the theming but I dont really like the fact that you have just gotten off a ride, adrenaline pumped then having to walk 5 mins to get to another one. That is kind of a turn off for me :(

Apparently by http://www.towersalmanac.com/ , Sunday will be Scarefest but people do go to Alton more on a Saturday than a Sunday. It will still be packed so dont expect short queues. Link (http://www.towersalmanac.com/need_to_know/opening_dates.php)

Like you, I normally go to thorpe park but have sometimes been to At, because you havn't been there before you will find AT better ( i would know!)
