hey, I'm not sure if I've told u this before, but I live in Asia and I can go to places around there quite easily. I'm taking a trip now to Janfusun Fancyworld in Taiwan, and there's two nice big coasters there by B&M--Diving machine G5 and Insane Speed. There's a giant frisbee, a Top Spinner, a S&S Power Drop tower, Chaos-style Ride, a pirate ship, and a giant water park. Interested in photos?

PICS ARE IN POST #9 AND #13! COMMENT!

Wow, I've never heard of this park before, let alone that there were two B&Ms, including a dive machine, in Taiwan. I can't wait to see some pictures of this place!

Ok then!

Yeah, I will, as soon as I upload my pics to my computer this afternoon or so!

Sorry, no, I didn't go there. I actually live up in Taipei, so I could go there if I wanted to but the hotel prices were crazy. Anyway, one weekday was plenty time to ride all of Janfusun's rides.

LOL! Me too, I've seen videos. Strangely, the locals, who were bursting my ears on the LIFT HILL of Diving MAchine G5, did not scream until the train was released. Oh well. The park was quite amazing, much better than Leofoo Village, another Taiwanese Park, which had almost every ride break down. :weird:

Yeah, I know, two B&Ms but still quite an unknown park. Actually I had lived in Taiwan for about 2 years before checking the RCDB and finding out that this park had two B&Ms. I'll get pics this afternoon (in Asian Time, that is :noob:), as I said earlier.

Well, to get those pics up, I need more replies, so reply away, please!!!!!

Asian? Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! :D:up:

Yeah, it wasn't as good as American parks, but still Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! :D:up: all the same!

I woke up at 7am just to take the Taipei Metro down to Taipei Main Station, where I had breakfast at a 7-11 (Yes, they have hot dogs, boiled eggs, instant noodles that they would make on the spot, of course they have breakfast). I hopped on to a high-speed rail train, and I was OFF!

Finally! After 1.5 hours, I've reached Chiayi station!

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00796.jpg

From there, i took a taxi to the park. It was about a half-hour ride and cost NT$1100, about maybe about 30 US dollars. It was worth it. I was there at Janfusun for the first time!

The entrance was colorful, but nothing special.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00799.jpg

After a tiring climb up a maze of path, escalators, and stairs which looked a lot like SF's Lombard Street, I reached the top of the hill......only to be forced down into the valley again. Seriously, these builders should plan where to lay path.

FIRST RIDE OF THE DAY! DIVING MACHINE G5!

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00801.jpg

With a wait time of 45 minutes.....they were only running one train until I rode, where they took out another one of the SEVEN they had to start test-running it.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00802.jpg

It was awesome, but intense. I tried to yell on the first drop, but stopped halfway and had to drink about half of my ice tea after the ride. :noob: There was plenty of airtime on the small hill after the overbank, awesome ride.

Next, I climbed down more escalators to the valley, where everything else was. The next ride was the park's other B&M coaster, Insane Speed. Or maybe it was Crazy Coaster (according to the website it was Crazy Coaster, but Insane Speed to RCDB). It was an awesome ride in the front. I like how it interacts with the queue line.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00803.jpg

The wait time wasn't long, so I rode in the back, then the middle, then the front again...all in a row!

Next, I snuck some fried chicken onto the park's signature attraction...the Ferris Wheel! I took about a 15 minute ride up tehre were great views. This is how big it is, how it towers over the park.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00806.jpg

I had lunch on it too, if you haven't guessed already. Next, I had a rest, and another ride on Insane Speed before checking out the UFO ride. It is a regualr giant frisbee.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00816.jpg

Next was Inverter, the park's Loop-o-Plane.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00815.jpg

OK, so it was a bad pic.

Next, I went to the waterpark. They have strict rules, about shower caps needing to be worn on ALL rides. Even in the beach volleyball area. Oh well. First of the two rides there was Tornado.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00814.jpg

Then, I had a ride on the ride called the CannonBOWL.

Nice TR so far.

It's odd how such a relatively unknown park has such great rides, including two B&Ms :o

Oh yes! The Oblivion clone!

But one shuttle (remember this is a dive machine ;) ) on a dive machine is absolutely shocking! I would be speechless if I saw that on Oblivion! It must'nt have been very busy thought if the queue was still only 45 min on one shuttle.

PART TWO: KUKU KIDDY LAND AND MORE RIDES!

After the waterpark, I ran around the park to get some nice shots. Here's one...which now makes me torn between three names of the ride....is it Crazy Coaster, Insane Speed, or Floorless Coaster? (The chinese translates to Crazy Speeding Roller Coaster).

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00812.jpg

Next was Kuku Kiddy Land. It was very well-themed. Even though I'm not a kid, and never will be again, it was an extremely creative area. It was completely INDOORS and featured a triple-decker merry-go-round, a jungle gym--a gigantic one at that--and the Kuku Coaster, the star attraction there!

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00819.jpg

Here's a full loaded train which I grabbed a shot of when entering the building.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r125/thebambooforest/DSC00820.jpg

It is a powered coaster, or "Dragon" coaster by Zamperla, and it was fun, and very appropriate for children...except for one bit. I didn't mind the slowness, or the part where the ride slows to almost a stop, it was the roughness of the ride. The seats were padded, yes, but I took a row to myself and body-slammed the sides every single time we went round a turn! It was fun, I guess, with about a 20 mph "launch" out of the station and two circuits round the track!

There is a POV that i took that i will post on YouTube and possibly put up for download on Rapidshare or something like that. It's abit shaky because of the ride's roughness, but it's okay, I had to redo it because I shook it around too much. The girls in front of me were screaming crazily, and there is one spot where the child behind me coughs, but other than that, no glitches in the video.

That was pretty much it for Kuku Kiddy Land.

Itw as almost 5pm, the park's closing time, so I started to leave. But first, I rode Diving machine G5 four more times, as it was almost completely empty. Here's some shots I grabbed on the way out.

I haven't been to taiwan in so long! I want to go back now you tell me theres an amusement park there!

Last time I visited an amusement park in Asia was on my trip to Thailand atleast 5 years ago. We went to DreamWorld and I rode a coaster there. It's called Sky Coaster now but it used to be called Hanging Coaster. Its a Vekoma suspended swinging.

Sorry, there must have been a misunderstanding, because the vid of Diving Machine G5 isn't a POV, it's a vid of it dropping and navigating the circuit. Sorry, but they wouldn't let me take any cameras on board.

Anyways, here's the link for YouTube.

ENJOY!

By the way, the chinese translation is something like Crazy Fast Fly Car. As the traditional chinese for rollercoaster is through the clouds flying car or direct translation "cloud through fly car".

disneyland123
11-07-2008, 04:59 AM
飛車,pronounced "Fei-Che", is roller coaster in Chinese, so basically it is called Crazy Coaster. 飛 does mean fly and 車 does mean car, but together they mean coaster!

Oh, and yes, sometimes they do put the "fly" in chinese before the "fei-che", but not "through" in Chinese.

Hope you liked the video, sorry if I disappointed you guys saying that it was a vid but you guys thought it was a POV. I'm going again soon, but this time I might not do a TR.

Reply please!

No, the full formal chinese for rollercoaster is: 雲霄飛車 "yuan xiao fei che" which DOES mean "cloud through fly car". I'm not really fluent with taiwanese, as I'm cantonese so I dont really know it.

I would like to see a POV of that "crazy roller coaster"...

I'm going again on December 22nd, so I'll try and get a POV of Crazy Coaster up for download AND/OR on YouTube. "xiao" is a Chinese word I'm not familar with, I'll check my english-chinese dictionary and see. You're Cantoneese? Cool. Are you from Hong Kong or something?

RCTfangirl
11-08-2008, 01:24 PM
Yeah my parents grew up in hong kong but my herritage is canton and shanghai (Half my family are shanghai). I haven't been to any amusement parks in Hong Kong but I know there's quite afew. I might be going to HK next year, so I'll make sure I try to visit some.

"Xiao" means "through" basically. "Yuan" means cloud.
