Even though they scrapped it now (well it was unreliable anyways), it looks like a pretty interesting ride. The closest i've been on to Vertigo is probably an S&S Power Tower or whatever they call it (good ride although I like Intamin towers better for airtime). For those of you who've been on it, how is it? I heard it also had LONG loading times for some reason...

Unfortunately, VertiGo was VertiGone before I had a chance to VertiRide it.

However, Frontier City in Oklahoma had the same ride, and I was able to ride it.

I had rather high expectations of it. Much to my surprise, it was one of the most boring rides I've ever ridden. I've been on carousels that I found to be more exciting. I felt like I could have taken a nap on it, and not been disturbed at all by its motion.

The ride just seemed to lack any "oomph."

As a result, I'm not particularly upset that VertiGo VertiWent.

Skyscraper, on the other hand, I found to be a lot of fun! I really enjoyed it. I just wish I could have had my camera out and could have taken some pictures while sitting at the top!

I think you should direct this at Harpo...

EDIT: That was strange...

And also, was the loading time immense? I read here that the attendant would make you "lock yourself in" or something because they're worried about "misconduct". http://www.coasterville.com/cp2.htm (read to the bottom)

Honestly, it seemed like a slow moving chairlift. I've been on chairlifts, and they aren't exactly thrilling, but they are a tad scary.

I think it would have been more scary than thrilling, if you know what I mean :/

EDIT: xD, disergard this post, I thought you were talking about VertiGo at Walibi Belgium!

I remember the one at Frontier City was very slow loading, but it was a Six Flags-owned park so I expected very slow loading.

The nice thing about the one at Frontier City was that it was included with park's admission. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid extra for that ride, as would have been the case in Cedar Point's Challenge Park.

Even if one of the towers had not collapsed during its first (and only) winter at CP, I suspect the ride would not have been around long.

But did they make you "lock yourself in" and "check yourself" to avoid teh whole "sexual misconduct" issues?

I don't recall for certain. It's been a while... 2003 was my last visit to Frontier City.

I do recall being extremely underwhelmed, and that they had the "tamest" programming version, where the seats always stayed upright. It looked like there were knobs for them to alter the programs, but they didn't give riders the choice of any other program, which I thought was unfortunate.

Yeah thats too bad. But I think its kinda silly the whole thing about hte attendant being in an "lewd and awkward position" to help... I don't agree with that.

Edit: Few years back, I was at CW riding Flight Deck (Think it was known as Top Gun back then). A standard Vekoma "hang and bang". I was pretty tiny back then (still am now) and it was already abit of a struggle to try to reach the seat belt (i have short arms...) I asked the attendant to help and he didn't mind. So much for the "lewd and awkward position"...
