Perhaps hte most painful ride at CW is getting new trains. I just read on the WIkipedia page. I've ridden Flight Deck 2 years ago and I had a pretty scary experiance on it. Also lots of headbanging too. I felt like I was slipping under the OTSR and only to be caught by my arm. I managed to pull myself back onto the seat etc. I wasn't quite "stapled" and I was really tiny back then.

Anyone else heard about this? If they're getting them in 2009, I'll be visiting Toronto in August and i'll MAKE SURE I TRY IT OUT! No more hang and bang wohooo!

Well I'll be darned! Good find!

This would be a BIG step in the right direction for this ride and, consequently, hopefully a path that the rest of the park would follow!

Yay for no headbanging!

While this sounds great and would turn a huge headbanger into a better ride, I'm not so sure if it will happen or not. Wikipedia isn't the best source in the first place, so when it says on Wikipedia that it's a rumour... it's really a stretch at this point.

I also googled it and couldn't find ANY info on the rumour or anything from coaster communities.

But I really hope this summer I won't be riding the "hang and bang" it was for the last several years.

Gotta love people who use Wikipedia as a reliable source for anything.

Let's hope its true, but I don;t trust Wikipedia all the time. I'd like to see the new trains on Flight Deck, thou. Maybe they would be themed to a jet. (Of course not, CW is a Cedar Fair park, otherwise known as the company who dosen't know what the word 'theme' means.)

God, I hope thats true, from my experiance on SLCs, they are painful, haven't bothered with the one at CW, but any change would be good.

Well in July next year I'll be going down to Vallejo to see my aunt. We're going to SFDC. I don't know whether I should give Kong a miss after my bad experiance on flight deck... Kong is said to be smoother and more enjoyable though.

Ride The Great Nor'Easter at Morey's Piers in New Jersey.

That will reevaluate how you feel about SLC's.
