No, the structures are different.

Yes, we do. That doesn't necessarily make it a good idea =)
However, it would be a lot of work with uncertain success so I personally will not undertake it.

You could just make an imcomplete coaster, set it to launch at a very low speed untill it rolls out on to a section of track placed where you want it to be.

I did this trick in the "destroyed amusement park" scenes in part 3 of my RCT3 players films.
