you don't, just export to ASE and get an ASE import script for blender ;)

ASE is the format you usually export your object as, you don't need Pro. As stu said, get an ASE script for Blender, export your object from SketchUp as normal.

You could do that or...This a tutorial I found a while back that works well.

Go under the File menu. Choose "Export." You want to export it as a Google Earth 4 format (.kmz)
Go to where you exported the file too. You want to change the extension from .kmz to .zip
Unpack the .zip file. There should be two folders within it. One named "images" and the other named "models." The models folder has the .dae file in it. Import the .dae file into Blender.

Exporting the file as .ASE and getting a script would probably be more convenient. :haha:

You must import it as a Collada(dae) file. RedOctober's comment reminded me, you may need a Collada import script. I recommend you try it the way stu recommended also, that way, you can choose which one is easier. I have only tried this way before.

trust me, ASE is one of the easiest ways you will find, the ultimate easiest way is to actually make it in blender

The problem is that SU stores a lot of additional crap in kmz files which you need to get rid of in Blender. With ASE you only have to deal with the crap it produces no matter what...
