I am off school today and I'm bored:downcast: So I decided to make a new thread. It will probably be closed, but basically just say what your scaries ride is.

Mine is Detonator at Thorpe Park. I have been on pretty much every scary ride in Britain, but this really packed a big big puch for such a small ride!! 5.5gs, WOW!!

I don't know. In fact, I'm not scaried of any ride, even if it's the first time I ride it.
I feel a little bit nervous when it's the first time, but I don't think that I'm totally scaried.

I can say that the ride that I felt more nervous at the first time was Hurakan Condor (100m - free fall).
I ridden Hurakan Condor twice: the first was sitted, and the second one was stand-up, so in the two times I felt nervous, but I can't say that I was scaried.

Mine was probably the first time I went on Stealth.. The sheer acceleration of that thing.

Or probably my first rollercoaster ride ever on Dragon at Legoland when I was like 4 or 5 or something.. The dragon terrified me then the drop that went under the bridge felt like my head was going to hit it.

umm... Possibly the first time I went on Goliath at Six Flags MM.

/\ Yeah Stealth is really scary for your first time. That launch really takes you by suprise, but after that it's pretty easy-going!!!! Except I really hurt my back from putting my hands up:(

Omg same.. My arms felt like they were going to break at mid-launch. Last September I saw someones hand manage to hit someone on the person who was behind him. It wasnt a pretty sight. :p

Also Detonator is pretty scary. I hate the clicking that it makes at the top. It is pretty effective though.

Kingda Ka was quite nerve racking. The only thing I was scared about is that feeing on the 90 degree vertical turn where you feel like your gonna come out. I knew the feeling from Stealth but this time it was higher. The launch was pathetic though, the acceleration felt sluggish compared to Stealth (and I'm shocked to say, Rita). Oblivion was quite scary too! But in all honesty the most scared I have been was on a vertical slide at Haven :haha:.

Wow lucky.. Do you think its better than Stealth?

Also has anyone been on Extremis at the London Dungeons?
My cousin went on it and said that it is the scariest ride he has ever been on.

I don't really think that there has been one real ride that I was scared to go on, althoug I drew the line at Detonator.... hate those rides.....
I think Griffon got to me a bit the first time I went on it, although nothing toooo bad....

I have!! It was actually terrifying!!! When I saw the height of it, I was expecting it to be like the berry boucers at Chessington!! But I was wrong!! Like detonator it takes you by suprise, and probably pushes you down faster than Detonator!!! And what makes it scarier, is that it's pitch black and at the top you see an animatronic person pull a lever as if you are about to get hung, and then suddenly you are plunged into the darkness below with jusy a lapbar to hold you in!!! It's worth going there, the boat ride is also amazing!!!!!!!

I hear that quite often actually. Rita and Stealth have faster acceleration then KK.. at least that is what the engineer for Stealth told me. :P

I'd take the higher speed over that tiny bit of an acceleration difference.

Same here. TTD had me questioning my sanity, but now it's all fun and games.

My last big scare was the Skycoaster at Kennywood. 180 ft up. Wow. Definitely worth it though. I plan on riding it again next year.

Everyone to their own. To me heights don't seem like much. I like force most.

And I dind't find KK hurt in the slightest. The restraints wern't uncomfortable because there wasn't really any airtime for you to get dug into them. I did get annoyed when my hair was all messed up at the end and my sister had taken my hairbrush out of my bag .

Supreme Scream at Knott's. Roller coasters don't get me at all. The height of that thing almost made me have a panic attack. I didn't thinkit was ever going to end. I hated it, but I would surely do it again.

Yes, TTD is amazing (have yet to ride Ka). After my past few rides, I've decided that it has the best launch I've so far experienced, a title which for a short time I gave to Stormrunner. I was a little nervous when I first rode it, but I threw my hands up in the air right after we took off, and loved it!

As for the scariest ride, it would probably be any drop tower for me. Even though I've actually only been on one so far, and the sensation really suprised me.

I'm not no sure about that, as Ka has OTSRs. And the extra hill at the end. Maks a big difference I would think. On Dragster, it feels like you could literally fall out when you're cresting the tophat facing the ground, becasue all you have is a lapbar and seatbelt. I would think that you wouldn't get that feeling on Ka because you have the extra security of the OTSRs. I've also heard that Ka is rougher then Dragster because of the different restraints.

When I talk hurt, I describe the roughness.. which you can see from almost any video of the launch. Look at the side to side shuffling of the train as it launches.. horrible roughness.

And of course, to each his own. I was just saying, that happens to be the trend.. and is actually a true statement (KK not as forceful).

ttd and kingda ka r the same. u ride one, u've ridden both of them

Not even close to the same.. and I'm not just talking the restraints. There are enough differences between the two rides to make a substantial difference, depending on the ride, to favor one ride or the other. By that logic, all SLC's should feel the same.. when they obviously do not.

it all depends whos holdiing the camara. u cant tell by a video, only by riding both of them can u make a diffrence, and that still a matter of opinion.

Well.. I'm pretty sure the people at National Geographic have steady hands.. ;)

I rode both, I felt both, and KK was rougher throughout the train. It wasn't mind numbing, but it wasn't comfy either.

I think my scariest ride was Diving Machine G5 at Janfusun.

The holding brake actually only stops you for a second, the other four seconds it actually just slows you down to almost a stop, but still not quite a stop.

Ye, G5 is the oblivion clone
I suppose im not scared of rides, ermm id say the most scared was pepsi max when i was like 8-10 years old
I think to be honest tough, the most scared i see people before a ride is oblivion, everyone looks terrified, with the whole build up in the station.. the slow lift, the stop... the vertical drop into a dark hole:D

Scariest ride was a plane ride from Detroit to New York, through heavy turbulence, including one spot where the plane did a 150 foot free fall (according to the pilot). My water went flying, a lady 3 rows up who didn't have her seat belt fastened hit the overhead compartment, and my dog was so upset, he chewed his way through his carrier -- since he was under the seat in front of me, I had to keep him in by putting my foot in the way. He tried to chew through my foot, too, but wasn't quite as successful with that maneuver!

Weird, it was comfy for me, I was fine on ride bu the stairs in the queue made me feel like I was gonna faint and stuff, I was freaking out a bit, just kept talking to the random people beside me aso in the queue and kept focus on people's back in front of me, so I couldn't see down. Yeah that's what it is...like shockwave. Except you come off it a bit and then get pushed down onto it really hard when it comes to a stop. One of the scariest rides I have been on is when Tower of Terror in Disney-Florida was first built. Disney did an excellent job creating a whole new atmosphere with this ride. The whole story and how the operators are all in character for the ride. The line makes you zig zag outside the hotel and then into the hotel. When you get on the elevator you know that you are about to go through the ride but don't expect the rest of the story line while going up the shaft. The next thing that was unexpected was the whole elevator moving into the room. It changes into one of the 2 shafts the ride operates.
Then comes the scary part. The elevator seems to be hit by lightening and then you are plummeted in pitch blackness. You shoot up to the top of the tower where the windows open to show how high you are. The ride drops a foot to where everyone including myself is screaming and then the windows close to let you drop again and then again. The screaming continues to the final drop where you slow down and see a static screen in front of you which is the bottom and exit.
The ride was very intense and relied on many senses. Disney did a fantastic job creating an experience with just a common ride.

Coaster at Playland in vancouver's got pretty intense airtime. I've gotten freaked out by it several times, it felt like I was going to fly out!

Although I had to say I got abit freaked out when I blacked out for a second or 2 on Flight Deck at Canada's wonderland 2 years ago... That thing pulls 4.5 G's I think.

No coaster's airtime that I've ridden can rival the Jackrabbit at KP. Fixed lapbars and adjustable seatbelts make for an awesome pop of air on the double dip and often takes first-timers for a surprise.

Drop Zone makes Power Tower seem like a kiddy ride.

S&S Launch and Drops are horrible.. they don't give you what drop towers are supposed to give you.. amazing airtime.

On PT, you get that burst.. but thats it. on DZ, you get that airtime.. for the WHOLE drop.. much like Demon Drop.. but 300ft tall.

Yeah, the first time I went on Power Tower (blue one) I was kinda surprised of the drop. I thought I was going to get butterflies the whole time going down. But I was fine...

If you're standing, and there's no floor.. even for a girl that would be very uncomfortable!

Ow i can imagine!

Actually Coaster at Playland doesn't even have a seat belt. The ejector airtime is really crazy! I've never ridden Jackrabbit before...

Some Shot/Drops give good airtime... WoF Detonator gives a nice pop at the top. :)

See.. one nice 'pop' isn't fun.. kind of like a Skycoaster.. a nice pop followed by much boring.

But.. some SMALL shots from S&S give great ejector. I actually rode 5 different ones this summer along the Jersey shore.. and I love em. Also they have one at Holiday World.

Awesome. :)

But.. some SMALL shots from S&S give great ejector.I've only ridden one S&S tower, Doctor Doom's at IoA. I remember it being very intense and a lot of fun. I haven't ridden Power Tower at CP because I haven't been back since I got over my fear of drop rides, though I did ride Demon Drop. DD was fun but nowhere near as good airtime as the Pitfall at KP (which sadly had a large amount of downtime this past season).

No coaster's airtime that I've ridden can rival the Jackrabbit at KP. Fixed lapbars and adjustable seatbelts make for an awesome pop of air on the double dip and often takes first-timers for a surprise.

Around 1min.....CLICKY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqdxhDFIH0A)
Yeah, Jack Rabbit was a really good coaster. The double dip is the best part of the ride. Lots of fun!

Kennywood is a good park for airtime, no doubt about it.

I've ridden an S&S and an Intamin tower. I do agree the Intamin has better airtime! But I was not freaked out by either at all.

Coasters don't USUALLY scare me, but Steel Venom at Valleyfair in Minnesota startled me when it launched. It is alot like Wicked Twister. It was my first launched coaster. Man, what a rush! I really liked when it stopped on the vertical spike.:D

I would have to say Titan from SF: Over Texas because of my experience. I almost blacked out on that ride.

El Toro.
When I rode it, I loved it.
Yet it made me feel very iffy. I had a headache and felt very light headed. Worth it? Ask me about the next 5 rides.

^^It wasn't scary at all. I think that is probably the best ride up there. It doesn't go to fast at all and it really doesn't feel like you 900feet in the air. Xscream sucks though. I thought I was going to die on that one.

Not to bad. It gives a great view of the city. The first launch is kind of scray, but after that it is an amazing ride to get see the whole city, well, the one direction you face. I would suggest to face the strip more action happening there.

^He's right! One ate my cousin once! :o

There were these slides at this waterpark called "Wilderness Territory" and they were pitch black. You couldn't see a thing, it was like closing your eyes in a cave. On these, you went wicked fast, and you never knew what was coming. Bumped my head a few times... favorite waterpark ever. It was so cool, but those slides freaked me out.

I thought it was badass though.. :P

Lets see:

My first time on SROS at SFNE I was pretty nervous, it was the tallest thing I'd ever been on, and I was like 10.

First time on Kingda Ka. Just looking down that long launch, and when the brake fins go down. WOW! Plus the first time I rode it I was in front.....

My first time on a Screamin Swing, I didn't expect it to have that fall out of your seat feeling, but I loved it so much.

And then lastly, Cyclone at SFNE, before they retracked some of the ride. That was the roughest, most painful thing, I've ever endured. I didn't ride it for four years, when they retracked it.

Lets see, I've overcome most coaster fears as of late, but now, its drop towers. Don't get me wrong, I love the air on the way down, its the slow crawl to the top and the anticipation of the drop while waiting up there. Drop Tower at KI is a nice way for me to start the day due to the adrenalin rush it still gives me.

Matterhorn at Canobie Lake Park. It was just a Mack Matterhorn, but it was run MUCH faster than the recomended speed. On the crest of the hills, the car swung past 90 degrees!:eek2:
